Right, sussed it, if Ururagay beat Holland we're neutral on the first time lay whatever happens.... with the Spain bet possibly alive. If spain beat Germany the bet's still on whatever happens. So if Holland beat Uruguay and Germany Spain, bet Holland almost certainly for a neutral outcome. Still a free bet on Spain ;-)

BTW Declan, I meant to ask you a while back, how's your Rugby betting going as you seem pretty knowledgeable. Was it enough to have an edge over the market? if so can I get some tips from you :))

Just had a look at my current return and current odds and I COULD afford to bet on Holland and Germany and make a small profit still unless Uragauay won :-$ I think West Germany lost to East Germany in 1974?

That's governemnt, compromsing on 'principles' when you have to, er, govern rather than take principled standpoints from a dead easy position of non-power. That's why Tony Benn resigned when he aws a minister as he found making actual decision rather than pontificating on socialsim far harder. The fact that many Liberal Democrats are apparently rebelling suggests that perhaps is where their comfortable default position is too. Meanwhile we have horrendous problems to face which the coalition is making a reasonable stab at so far and I get the sense that many people outside of the media kind of thinks so too.

If Germany get there I suspect I/you can get out of it unscathed too :-$. The other thing is to back Holland now, when the odds are better as...Urgayuay have won before and I can't see Paraguay IF they beat Spain beating Germany (who have obviously won before). I think I'll sit on mine but if you're in for a lot you can minimise losses pretty easily.

The liberal democrats are finally in governmant effecting change, having to be responsible and at laest opening the door to electoral reform.....ironic that they're been turned against, mainly by the usual suspects on the left, for actually getting in power for the first time since the 1st World War. Tough having to actually make responsible decisions eh? I'll be voting for them again.
