  1. Pencil me in BUT Is there a dress code? Does it involve golfing clothes?
  2. Charltons One - great footballer and cock The other - average footballer with little black book.... and cock Both hate each other, which is pretty cock like behaviour.
  3. They were crap then and are crap now....simples
  4. Nice to see everyone getting rid of their unwanted presents after christmas too ;-)
  5. Cheers Mark by the way. Interesting.
  6. So, to a degree, suggests that the Lounge, uniquely, is on the slide....
  7. I'm irreplaceable
  8. Actually the Family Room is where it is at nowadays...lots of support and fun and the occasional MAJOR 'off' like the MIND spraying breastfeeder thread which made it into the national media (er...the Mail) and Radio 5...most regular lounge posters were tottaly oblivious to this I suspect, certainly the ones at the Clockhouse drinks were. The Familyroom has its own drinks (Mockney attends) and Keef is all over the gaff like nappy rash! You kidless are missing out big time.
  9. In reality shouldn't the 'workers' party now be called the 'white-collar middleclass public sector workers' party?
  10. Moos, don't you have a tiny, tiny regard for the very few hardy souls who smoke in kids' playgrounds in the park? The way they stand there apparently oblivious to the ill disguised hatred poring onto them from 99% of their fellow play park usesr is actually quite noble.
  11. It's never stopped me *Bob*
  12. Who seem to think you can fund a decent welfares state, health service and education out of nothing
  13. No, the usual supects reffered to the usual set of left wing media commentators, columnists and politicians.
  14. Can you imagine what the additional hardship for the poor, weak, ill, old, etc will be like if the country goes bust LadyM? The rich won't suffer....
  15. ...and from next year all tax payers will be as tax and NI increases are due without the extra stuff that will probably have to come. A pretty small, but temporary, increase in tax on consumption on non-essentail items is a no brianer to me but, oh no, some of the usual supsects would rather try and score political points than sort out the country's finances.
  16. A small increase in tax on consumption of non-essentials which will raise a significant amount of income without taking too many risks on dampneing economic recovery is being banded about as some evil reverse Robin Hood tax by the normal suspects in 'progressive' politics. PlEASE NOTE taxing bankers bonuses at 200% won't get us out of this mess.
  17. Arguing about a 2.5 percentage point 'hike' in VAT - a tax on non-neccessities - in the current dire financial circumstances is a madness that 'progressives' should be really taking a long hard look at what exactly they are aiming for for the UK, not expecting any silence though..
  18. I think the gender bit on that post is crap Rosie, there are plenty of gels more than capable of causing an argument in a phonebox on here
  19. 5 times as many posts as any other thread ...and most of them by some old friends and some EDFers too
  20. Wot Rosie said. Sean - The Drawing Room is a good place (although still can be fairly unpleasant despite the rules) with some very good debates. But it's not hit and run, small circle, missing contributions from some decent posters ( *Bob* being just one example that springs to mind) because I suspect they don't bother visiting often. But overall, as I feared and said initilly, I think it's made the Lounge worse and that's the lifeblood. Occasionally we've had a DR like thread in the Lounge and they've tended to be greart threads (I think MickM did one on Education as an eg off the top of my head).
  21. I can't wait to read all the analysis of this over on NHF...in about 8 days I'm guessing.

  23. Rosie - absolutely. Someone said I was an "Irritant" the other day 'posting my opinions on everything all overr the forum, etc etc"......best I have felt on here in a couple of years.
  24. According to orioles...(mmm, now who is that?) on NHF Daize this is yer answwer Answer: Its the bland leading the bland, I'm afraid. No life, electricity or vitality. Nothing to stimulate just becoming a dull, dismal, (slightly) depressing, dreary Lounge area now as those who were prepared to take a risk or the feisty element ( bbw/mikecg/tls/afn etc) have all been sent packing. The truth is that any Forum I've ever seen, inevitably, relies on opinionated Men to raise the temperature and cause a stir ( and Yes! friction sometimes) but Men, invariably, have no hard feelings and often praise their adversaries. I'm afraid the combination of non-controversial and non-combatitive Females and liberal wishy-washy, uncontroversial Men has reduced EDF to its current boring nothingness. Think there are some truths in that
