  1. I thought it was a *Bob* spoof one initially
  2. BTW ask Diane Abbot, Tony Blair and other 'Labour' architects of the Academies where they sent their kids to school.......
  3. Like jeremy said, I think Mick's only mistake was in the wording where I think he said 'better demographic'...Am i going to send my kids to one of the academies with their current results and deprivation scores? No. Does this mean they are bad schools, not neccessarily, does that make me a snob, no, but my kids are middle-class kids with middle class parents (there I said it mockney) with 'middle class apirations including giving them the best education possible (within the state system). I don't think the academies are delivering that for a whole bucket of reasons - so the choice for many - who have the luxury of choice - is basically to go private or move out. Some schools which weren't just 'targeted' at inner city deprivation with traditionally poor results, would benefit all in the community, including working class kids Keef, and reflect the changing demography of the southern part of the borough....and I think that is what MM is getting at (correct me if I'm wrong MM). I don't think MM envisages having someone on the gate checking to see if kids coming in drop their aiches or say toilet like wot I do. One cap fits all eh or you're a snob?
  4. It's not the place of the same name and location I've visited....
  5. children?
  6. Might not be very PC but I agree with MM on this and not sure how aspiration has now been stigmatised as 'snobbism'
  7. ????

    100s

Actually it wsa Sean's, Moos picked up a 100 with just a standards assist. Apologies Moos.
  8. ????

    100s

I agree with Capt'B....it's like shooting fish in a bucket whereas the gradual stalking, pursuit and Coup de Grace of a pure 100 is almost spiritual...I think a one off assist on 98 is perhaps ok (*accepts drink of Sean*) but wacking 10 on the end is poor form...although well done Moos..... ...did that come over embittered enough?
  9. So which did you go for?
  10. I agree Atila, I think that's a factor too
  11. Northern Grandma, PAH! Moos is an avid fan of "t'street" I reckon.....
  12. dammmnnnnnnnnn - and I was here....aghhh. Right.
  13. There are two different aspects here. There are those who, certainly in the past, wouldn't have got 'A'Levels or degrees in the past getting them with good grades and this has devalued qualifications as a measurement. Then there are the annoying things like having to sit down with clearly bright graduates to teach them how to use an apostrophe as they haven't been taught it!!!! I think this is what Macroban was talking about too.
  14. MM, for future reference for correspondence with BBW.....Knobend also works
  15. Well, yes but they became those in The Premiership they merely had potential when signed - I see Mathew's point, maybe Torres is an exception, but the real non-english stars of the last 10 years eg Fat Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane, Chevenko at peak etc haven't been in the Premiership..even someone like Viera moved out once established as World Class
  16. Is it September the 2nd or November the 2nd? September's a great month - normally fine dry warm weather, still pretty long days, leaves etc still on the trees.... and my birthday. There's a touch of melanchony on here completley unwarranted...(although we do understand you are speeding through your Autumn years Tony)
  17. Not sure If I agree Moos (re debates), some can get very heated as they are about things people have strong viewpoints, strong opinions and put these forward robustly (as they should for a good debate), some get abusive/personel which is poor, some get hijacked by personal ding-dongs..but many debates on here are mere lighthearted flitters through various issues, i quite like those
  18. Try looking for "English" on most official forms
  19. Well, transfer day was a bit of a damp squid - I think it tells us more about the wobbly finances and levels of debt of the big boys than anything else - those combined with a depreciation in the ? and Gordon's hike in the tax rate sees the end of The Premiership as the main choice for the world's best for a while at least....
  20. tee hee...does MM know your real name Wolfie or was that glorious chance?
  21. Isn't that also part of the medium though too Moos? There's no nuance - other than crass emocions - so things can come over more aggressively than meant, irony missed etc - this is especially true for new posters when people haven't really got to grips with their style.
  22. any suggestions for a title?
  23. 'on' or 'in'? The latter suggests some kind of decorative ornament... the former a hooker.
  24. Sean and Wolfie sitting in a tree...etc
  25. I take it you had a pleasant vacation in Eastboure Moos and enjoyed your 7pm constitutional along the promenade?
