Was there another thread on this then? Did it have the same title? I was just looking for it and couldn't find it.

I think its total bollox and yet another chance for the government to scam yet more money out of the average smoker as if the millions they make on the revenue and taxation of cigarettes isn't enough already. The government has to put on a front of pretending to want people to stop smoking (by imposing bans etc. putting the prices exceedingly high etc. advertisments etc.) yet on the other hand still likes and needs the revenue and taxes it gets from them, so to do this will:- 1) get the backing of all those self righteous non-smokers, as they are all just anti-smoking anyway and coming down upon the heads of those who do smoke will just be another plus for them; 2) Bring in yet more money for the government under the guise of "oh its to discourage and help the teenagers to stop" while secretly hoping they will actually be lifetime smokers themselves so as to keep the coifers full and keep the revenue coming in whilst appearing to try to help people stop. The next thing will be a drinking pass to be purchased and shown at the bar when buying a pint, or how about a fatty or fast food pass? These are all killers aswell, I don't smoke and stopped 5 years ago but for the love of God is there no end to this?

Debauchery involves drinking? I thought he meant he was going to go sow his wild (and very youthful at least in spirit) oats about this weekend, ha!

I am not for one moment condoning the use of performance enhancers or illegal substances in any sports, but if the set time for a crime has been done, then yes in this instance a person should be allowed to leave it in the past and compete if he is deemed the best candidate for the job, but only if they genuinely regret it and there is no repeat occurence. The only answer to this is for the regulatory authorities to change the time limits or impose even stricter laws or bans on this subject in order to really deter use in the first place. If athletes were faced with known lifetime bans or really harsh penalities, then they may think twice about dabbling in the first place.

No, I think one wonders would all of that have come out if it hadn't been found out. I don't think she would have really said hey guess what I did in my past, weeks before an election, but if she did then good luck to her, as it all seems to be about "when" the sh*t hits the fan, before or after election, what difference does it make, (many politicians have had "real life experience" with previous drug experimentation etc. and torrid sexual scandals, thats MPs all over. "Purity of Body" sport??? erm ok!!! cos no-one else has ever taken drugs while doing sports eh, as with the country's cyclists when some were found to be using performance enhancers, once the punishment has been carried out and the time done it should remain where it belongs in the past, and if you don't like that then Eat Me! Is my opinion, and you won't change it, no matter what you are ranting on about.

The paedophiles and killers are a whole different kettle of fish Loz, don't even begin to try and infer that I place them on the same scale or even in the same category, that would be just wrong. Dwyane Chambers played American Football for the 2 years plus he was banned, and was regularly tested for drugs because he was on a team, so what the heck! :-S Killers, paedophiles, rapists of children etc. do not deserve to be categorised alongside ex drug users, who are now trying to right the wrongs of their pasts. Are you now saying they are the same then and should be all banded together? scary
-
Yeah sorry Atilla, wasn't very nice of me to resort to personal criticism to make my point, have amended, but I do get cross with the whats ok for one but not the other on here sometimes.
-
But doesn't Dwayne Chambers also have experience of real life issues? He's already said use me as an example to the children for reasons "not" to take drugs??? I don't see CWALD's honesty as being such a big deal as there is little you can do when you have a newspaper journalist knocking on your door/phoning asking you to clarify rumours as well. Just because she took drugs, sold herself etc. does that qualify her to run the country stand as a voice for whoever better than any other candidate? So better to out with all your crap first then go for election as opposed to letting the media find out, which they will eventually do in the end anyway when you have so many skeletons in your closet? A good tactic in my book. He was banned for 2 years and drugs stay in your system, hair follicles etc. for a lot longer than you think, so if he is clean now the obvious is he no longer a drug user and is genuinely sorry for doing so, as was Chav, sorry for her previous drug use etc, why should one be treated as an outcast to be thrown to the lions for ever and another patted on the back for it, just coz you know her?

Erm....no...:-S just that the subject area sort of (for some strange unknown reason) conjures up images of exactly what my man IS packing....(was also said erm..."tongue in cheek")

There are many jobs that > are closed to people with a previous criminal > conviction. See this is where the hypocrysy gets my goat! yet you are ok with an ex prostitute, ex-drug runner/importer, ex heroin addict and whatever else standing for parliament or whatever it was, representing you, just because you know her and shes really a nice girl??? Everyone has the opportunity to reform and the right not to be judged on their past mistakes, isn't that right ED Forumites? ;-)

Not fair, am stuck at work feeling horny now! change the subject pleeeeaase lol!:-$
-
Erm... not necessarily, though a trim is cool too! Depends on what you are working with, if you're not packing much, will look like a prepubescent boy though!
-
All is so much more smoother, softer, cleaner, easier and nicer to the touch when its all been whisked away! No more great big long pubes getting caught between the teeth and all! hehe!;-) (Sorry if I've grossed you all out but I love it!)
-
Only the ED forum could come up with a whole thread on erm...Marmite! 88 posts so far! jeez, isn't there anything else to discuss in the whole world or have we now run out of ideas?
-
I think Dwayne Chambers, in my opinion, has served his time for the crime and has been big enough to put his hands up and say hey, I made a mistake, I'm sorry but now I'm reformed, back in training and have served my time, so deserve a chance. All the people who are all up in arms about it really aggravate me, plus he's about the only chance we have of a medal in his event, being as he is fastest in his field and absolutely whupped the opposition last weekend in the trials. I say good luck to him. He's not hiding the fact that he made a mistake or trying to make excuses either and was banned for two years, but still managed to maintain, (without drugs this time), his skills.

karter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > > all too easy though, just grab her by her hair > Rosie and throw her out a window. (6) so do you not deem this vicious then Karter? Or would that be your softly softly approach ha!:))
-
Thats a good one Keef! Rosie, her name isn't Sarah by any chance is it? The only thing wrong with that one will be that the rumours could be traceable back to her, and then get her in trouble if her boss wants to do anything about them, and it wouldn't take her long to suss out who's been doing the spreading. Plus hopefully this new firm will suss her out really quickly before her trial period is up and not offer her the place! other than that I'd go with the Sharon Osborne approach and poo on her desk!

Hey, what happened to the crazy UFO thread?
LizzygotDizzy replied to LizzygotDizzy's topic in The Lounge
There was one that had loads of video footage in relation to UFOs etc. Keef replied "huh?" to it or something like that, and I said, I'd have half an ounce of what the poster was on! Am not going crazy honestly! -
