  1. Hi, I first was attracted to her as she was a readhead, no hair just a readhead. Oops got to go as the nurse is coming round! Regards, Libra Carr.
  2. Hi, Today it was my wifes birthday, I went down to Lordship Lane and perused the shops to find that special present. In the end I bought her a nice belt and bag. It has made her very happy as she is now able to use the Hoover again. Regards, Libra Carr.
  3. Hi, All emergency vehicles have a wider axle than that of the normal car, thus humps will not affect ambulances or fire engines (except bog standard police cars). Local councils are reluctant to install humps unless there have been a noticeable increase in accidents as they can be sued for causing damage to the car. I guess the problem is with the driver of private car's. It is quite simple.... Take it easy, exit side roads with due care, wait at the pedestrian crossing until the lights give you the authority to move (both for driver's and pedestrians) and when you are at traffic lights or crossings stop closer to the pavement so that the Lycra Boy's do not undertake you and cause problems for other road user's. I think that the more signs or other forms of slowing traffic down distract driver's and has the opposite effect. Oh well, gotta go now as this thread is boring me. Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  4. Hi, I went into the Deli today and asked the rather nice sweet man if he had frogs legs, he replied 'No I alway's walk this way'. Regards, Libra Carr.
  5. Hi, Does the 185 have onboard entertainment or Catering? Regards, Libra Carr.
  6. Hi, The point was that goose1 mentioned the Maudsley in what appeared a derogatory way. Goose1 could have mentioned Sainbury's or King's, but chose not to do so. Kind regards, Libra Carr.

Hi, In regard to your posting I find it very, very offensive. The Maudsley caters for people that have suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as other mental problems. Recently a ex-soldier that I know had treatment there. Normal treatmnet is for 12 sessions, he had to have 23 He is continuing at Maudsley with a vocational specialist to try and get him back to work. He is just one of the many thousands in the Armed Forces that think of your liberty and freedom, and puts himself second. Perhaps you might just think next time when you post a item without thinking. Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  8. Hi, If you need to complain about a driver or service you need to note the time, location and registration number (which is displayed at the front of the passenger area of the bus) That helps the company to identify who is the driver at the time. Regards, Libra Carr.
  9. Hello, My friend wanted to use a van for four day's a few weeks ago and was dreading the cost. He had rented for two day's from Budget which cost in the region of 175.00 He spoke to a number of people that offered the 'man and van' service and was amazed that most of them wanted over 400.00 for the privelige of being on call! He then decided to ring around the local hire companies and found a company called A1 van hire in Brixton. They charged him 150.00 all inclusive and no mileage charge. He said that the people were very friendly and would use them again. My question is that it is so easy just to hire a man and van and then moan about the cost, is it not better to ask hire companies if they do a hourly/half day rate and then drive yourself, thus saving money. Kind regards, Libra Carr.

I see mostly middle class people exiting the shop on Lordship Lane. Your comment is so frightfully upper class and 2006. Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  11. Hello, In the last three postings you have given me true and positive views, thank you. I will try to locate the owners and see what the situation is. Many thanks once again. Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  12. Hi, I did the same thing. I panicked next day when I needed it! I went back to Sainsbugs they have loads of them in a drawer. A few questions and we were reunited for our next little spree together! Regards, Libra Carr.
  13. Hi, This place has always been a twinkle in my eye. Please tell me what you would like to eat, what you expect, and what you would like to pay and I will see if it is available. If it is, I will do my darn best to ensure that if I take it over it will satisfy the most discerning customer at a price that is not inflated, is value for money and the service is impeccable! Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  14. Hi, This evening I had two people at my door. They were very polite and smart. They said that they were Jehova Witnesses, I told them that I had not seen the accident! they seemed confused and left. Regards, Libra Carr.
  15. Hi, Just a quickie Can anyone tell me what happened to the Carribean Restaurant that opened there? It featured a lot in posting's on this site, but was always empty when I went past, despite everyone saying that they were going to try it. Perhaps if a few people got together a community cafe/restaurant could be opened. Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  16. Hi, Can someone explain to me, thick as I am, why should the ratepayers pay to move a pedestrian crossing for the benefit of a trader! Quite clearly the lorry driver has commited offences contrary to the road trafic act on numerous occasions previous and continues to do so. If the council were informed of the usual times of delivery, they would be able to secure the services of a appropriate recovery vehicle, and secure the same into a compound, thus increasing their parking revenue. It seems to me that that the traffic wardens only apply tickets to the vunerable, for instance, people park on double yellow lines to make purchases in the Southampton Row shops. In the ten years that I have lived in this area I have never ever seen a traffic warden in that area! The reason is they are scared of a confrontation. I have spoken with the council who advised that wardens visit different areas on different day, they admitted that they have no current disputes or outstanding cases in Southampton Way, they would not confirm that this was because wardens do not visit this area because of fear of confrontation. Oh Well, must keep paying the rates! Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  17. Hi, I used to clean windows when I was at college and still have all of the equipment. If any one wants windows cleaned at a less than market price, I would be happy to clean them for you. Because of current safety laws I would be only able to do two storey houses. Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  18. Hi, Thanks Nutty for the photo's, I was begining to think it was my imagination Kind regards, Libra Carr
  19. Hi, Did anyone see the car crash early Saturday morning? It was opposite Somerfields with three badly damaged vehicles. One vehicle ended up in the outside seating area of the restaurant. All vehicles were near write off's . The bizzy's were there and quite a queue of rubber-neckers (must be from Crystal Palace) Remains of shattered screens, oil etc. are still visible. Because no-one posted this crash I thought that it might have been a film set with the cast and crew nipping off for breakfasts. Regards, Libra Carr.
  20. Hi, I was interested to note that the Vale got 4% of votes and that a flaw occured in the voting. Does that mean it may have been voted for higher than 4% or lower? Regards, Libra Carr.
  21. Hi, I have not seen them, but if anyone does can you ask them to play combine harvester by the Wurzels or when the common market comes to Stanton Drew - to favourites of mine especially if its done in 'Drum and Base' format.... Wicked! Oops got to go.. my carer's here! Regards, Libra Carr.
  22. Hi, In reply to Georgina's question the subject of self scans has been floated before. They are a complete waste of time. If you go through the scan and have alchohol you have to wait for authorisation which sometimes takes a long time. Is it not a simple idea that they install software so that you can scan your credit/debit card before scanning purchases? if this is done the bank will know all of your details and can decline the sale of any purchases if the cardholder is underage. Given that most alcohol is security tagged the alarms would go off if the item was removed from the store if not approved and scanned. This system would make it easier for Sainbury's to pass the buck - Remember when the store in Clifton Moor, York lost its licence? Or, just as a afterthought, would it not be better to employ human beings with common sense? Kind regards, Libra Carr.
  23. Dear Andy Pandy, I think you have clearly lost the plot as you should be eating pudding and pie's!! Are you sure you eat at the Surma in Dulwich, Dulwich is a very large area you may have got confused with the lower rate rating restaurants near by. I often eat at the Surma and I've always found their food exceptional and the staff are always friendly and polite, so please remind me which (Surma) did you attend?? If you note the restaurant opposite they have some dumb blonde tart staring into space writing that the food is gorgeous and the fact that Joanna Lumley eats their as well! Yeh Right! Perhaps you may have got confused with the Mirash which is still 70's style decor (OK if you are a curry loving Abba fan). If you walked down Lordship Lane tonight you will have noted that the Surma has more 'bums on seats' than any other restaurant - clearly that speaks that it is the more prefered venue as it offers a set buffet at the same price as other venue's. I give my view as a Chef and critic and feel that innane comments about our revered restaurants on Lordship Lane is only bad for the area and certainly will not help the local economy. I await your reply, Libra Carr.
  24. Hi, Please could anyone advise me of the current rate of exchange for US Dollars against Sterling. I want to purchase a item for $111 but do not have a clue what price I will be paying. Many thanks, Libra Carr.
