  1. I know Well I know his reason, but I can't see what he claims to see
  2. compared to the horrors that are: Budgens/Londis BetFred That council/government office opposite Black Cherry I'll take Davina any day
  3. red devil - that point has been made by others and will be made again but it's only valid as far as it goes As someone who's nationality was once looked upon less favourably, I know all to well the wince that accompanies any negative story and the obvious glee in which it is received in some quarters. The reason you wouldn't be offended about hearing about "4 white girls" is that there aren't whole political parties, various lunatic organisations and a sizeable quiet minority who want to see the back of "white people". When you have to live with that kind of attitude towards you and your colour/race/sexuality, accentuating the positive is not just some glib desire
  4. It's ok Tony - we have all had a message from He Who Must Be Obeyed at one point or another No need to collect the full set, mind
  5. it's an old thread I know, but searching for green and blue gave me this or the "blue and green book club" thread so this one it is Having long been intersted in the Luddite wine on sale in G&B (and who wouldn't be reading it's description) Luddite Wine - Scary, no? I finally got around to giving this one a good old go - and very very nice it was too. But far far less scary than that description sounds, which I'm not sure is a good thing or a bad thing. But in any case, Recommended to Shiraz lovers
  6. No offence meant young Tonester. It was more a reference to you and me often disagreeing, wheras BB and I often agree, but there we were with the tables turned..
  7. I quite liked the signage of D's B
  8. Wow - TLS spotting my irony and Bellenden Belle actually thinking I write in that fashion. What is the world coming to?
  9. That's all well and good coming from someone who may not have English as a first language. But most corrections on here tend to be directed at people what should know better like
  10. :))
  11. tried not to get involved in this one but here goes I think the description is, if accurate, potentially useful and don't see any problem with the OP Part of the reason some people get twitchy is the knowledge that plenty of racists do exist out there and that every time a description involves a black person, it fuels their notion of what black people are like, and not any motivation to solve the crime. Be clear I'm not saying anyone posting on here fits this description but I don't think it's a case of anyone finding the word "black" offensive either and I just wanted to add that If it's a sorry old world where we can't describe a persons colour without a broo ha ha, well there are reasons and pretending we don't know what those reasons are is as unhelpful as not being able to describe potential perps
  12. strawbs - your new job - it doesn't involve diplomacy does it?
  13. did you have to call it a "black"berry tho? ;-) Is there some method of identifying the owner of a blackberry when found - maybe start writing an email and see who the From is? Althouth I suppose it's probably locked
  14. agreed Cassius - I remember before the WDF was setup having a couple of meetings with the chap who set it up. It seemed entirely sensible to have a complimentary forum for what is quite a wide area
  15. has Mike Paleantologist hacked Moos' account??
  16. I see the tone hasn't got any better in recent weeks Not content with arguing a point in the specific thread, some people feel the need to constantly berate existing forumites with ongoing put-downs in other unrelated threads - Summarised thusly: "Someone disagrees with me I have no argument but I know I'm right I'll call them names and suggest they only see what they want to see I want my mummy"
  17. Agreed Anna - it's disappointing. But having done the deal we can probably ignore the article itself as Eduardo's presence merely allows them to print the story they had already written I know saying one hates the Sun is redundant - but god I hate it
  18. Is it wrong for me to be excited at the prospect of Huguenot's response? Although I'm not sure where comes from. SQ - are you suggesting you are being censored??
  19. penk now, what was it that got you banned the first time?
  20. I'd like it to be true, but for the reasons stated, I don't think it will happen. But happy to have Jill confirm it as she hears more..
  21. in fact you can listen to some tracks here
  22. Got around to getting myself the Dark Was The Night Compilation today As recommended by Laura Barton. And David Carnell It really doesn't matter if you haven't heard any of these artists before. Read that review from Laura Barton again. It's that wonderful. If you can't find a treasure chest of goodies here, you can't like music...
