If we are going to criticise restaurants can we get the details right? Praise Tandoori Nights all you want but it is they who have the Monica Ali sign out front. To knock another restaurant (in this case Curry Cabin) for that particular sin doesn't speak highly of your critical skills - sorry Andy Curry Cabin have a Myleene Klass notice out front. Details matter. It is after all the basis of your critique (for the record, my opinion is that Tandoori Nights > Curry Cabin. By some distance)

Taken on it's own I can agree with you and Huguenot, jcgt I guess I'm being more laid back about it because the slapee seems fine with it - I trust them to have asessed the situation for what it was. Ditto when some girls did the same to me a few months back I maybe SHOULD have been worried - if nothing else because I might have been set-up. I can only echo the Lambchop recommendation - and if anyone is tired of hearing of these bands that you have never previously heard of then why not acquaint yourself. Playing a Lamchop album is just... well, like the man said... lovely

is it my imagination or has Wheetabix not gone up by anything like 130% definitely see some things have gone up, sometimes by a lot but I know for a fact I'm not spending anything like +60% on food If food prices are behind the changes then a revamp of the menu is more in order - replacing fresh tuna with tinned is just wrong on every level surely? My own thoughts is that the Bishop "group" have expanded more into a pubco than a local pub so are less focused on quality these days. Just an opinion tho so if Scott or whoever is able to put me right I'd be more than happy

from my experience of upstairs at the academy, you can hardly see bugger all even if you stand up at the back - if people are standing at the front then that's probably worse I'm sure someone will say health n safety but I guarantee anyone who feel off would sue for every penny so I don't blame them Now - the people who tell me to sit down at the likes of Wembley Arena when I'm already on the floor - grrrrrrrrrrrr

If the country is as banjaxed as quids thinks it is I don't see any reason why ED would be less affected than others. But I grew up in a country that was permanently (and genuinely, seriously, majorly) f***** economy wise and I was in Wiltshire during the 80s recession and Devon in the 90s recession. Both of those may come to be seen as minor compared to the next but if we manage to avert the worst of the crisis it won't be because of any Cassandras. Life DOES go on, even in the worst of recessions. Easy to say now, less so if times get pitifully hard, but no less true for all that. I have my candles, my books and my still all good to go

After a few weeks of never been off the front page, this place has slipped off the radar a bit hasn't it? I popped in last night after work to finish a book and was delighted to be near a real fire. Reminds me of an old joke about the DHSS - back in the 80s (I think) the governm,ent renamed it the DSS, at which point comedians (and you really had to be there I guess) said "first they drop the H, next it'll be the D and then it'll show it's true colours eh eh???" *shakes head* I forgot how much I was miserable in the 80s!
