  1. I am probably a 7/10 on the fast-walking stakes. 4.6 miles seems excessive to me but it might be true. And I have cheated a little by not included time lost (even with experience) at E&C But isn't 4 miles an hour considered walking-pace? I would have said a slightly faster than average walker would manage 4.6 miles closer to an hour. In any case 60 minutes.. 90 minutes... just think of it as a gym session with a point
  2. Rich bastard. I had to use a mates speccy. . . Not even my own. I knew 2 people who had amstrads and i knew i would never be able to aspire. .
  3. Steve You can have it in this thread or in the things that make you laugh thread. . . But both ?
  4. My time is to blackfriars. Add 20 on to moor gate. I walk up dog kennel. . Wal worth rd. Black friars rd. I did it 8 times in one week once but with no danny baker on the breakfast show its less attractive I live by the plough as well so if you are closer to town it should be better
  5. R type final on ps 2 was great. Looking forward to the 360 arcade version. I actually completed r type on the speccy. Tape load and all
  6. 60 minute walk to the city. . Easy peasy
  7. To be sure to be sure. Ok. . It was an obvious point. Speaking of which. . Sarah palin. .
  8. I might agree with this but I would suggest pretty much most people out there fall into this category and have done for a long time - the whole housing game is practically forcing people to be predatory
  9. nope - impatient drivers cause impatient driving... the inconvenience of waiting mere seconds for a green man to flash compared to the horror of crossing uncontrolled traffic? hmmmm accidents is a funny word as well - have a look at most accident reports - were they accidents or were assumptions made which turned out not to be true?
  10. what is it with all of the penetration of orifices with objects on this thread??
  11. that is both hilarious and scary GG Not as scary as the human flotsam shouting racist chants at recent rallies for Mcain and Palin And as for this words fail me
  12. yeah but .... thing is DM... I was making social commentary on why women feel objectified - I wasn't being childish and prurient! * points at Carnell * * runs like Billio *
  13. This The difference between weekends and weekdays is amazing. I'm sure the weekend revenue allows it to open at other times but I know which I prefer
  14. Cheers for the link Matt I vote for the Curry Club having a wander...! BTW Matt - Curry Club is an open invite so if youfancy joining us at next one feel free
  15. pshh - many of them don't seem to settle for their own boobs, never mind a proper-fitting bra!
  16. I would give any curry house more than one go as it's possible for any restaurant to have a bad night. My 2 dependables are Omrith and Tandoori Nights so I echo Jeremy's endorsement (I haven't been to Pistachio for years for no reason I can think of) Jaflong - the new boy on the block - did us proud when we visited but I've only been once I expect some people could come on here and say they have had dreadful meals in all of the above - such are the differences in opinion and experience. I only actively dislike one place on the Lane but lots of people seem to like it
  17. Matt It's a perennial topic on here A group of people normally meet up once a month and visit one of the curry house by rote Details Here Would you say there were many good curry house in Brick Lane? The ones on LL are pretty much "standard" with maybe Tandoori Nights as the more expensive but a bit different. If you type "curry" into the search box atthe top right of the page you should find several threads where people discuss their favourites - no real consensus on the best tho
  18. How am I telling tales? Several other people have commented on the post already nor do need to draw anything to admin's attention But if I'm drawing attention to the forum rules there MIGHT be a reason....
  19. not just toolish but contrary to Admin's forum rules If it was me who had written Steve's comments, discretion might make me go back and edit the message [hint Steve]
  20. now, is that the ONLY reason?? ;-)
  21. True - it is one thing about this forum I find annoying. You never hear about anything opening...
  22. It's some of the facts Tony - I still don't see where you are going with any of this other than it apperas to be "stop all immigration" Which presumably means millions of expat Brits coming back here?
  23. useful as in a glossier Yellow Pages kind of way - but there is pretty much nothing written in there that contributes to the sum of human knowledge Even within the constraints of being advertiser led, it doesn't need to be quite so vapid with it's editorial surely? I would argue that about 5 years ago it made for a mildly diverting read with a few columnists. Whereas now it's just pointless
  24. surely same would apply to jobs Brendan? Why should you and I as non-nationals have access to jobs in this country when there is a growing unemployment queue?
  25. anyone who makes inflammitory comments and responds to any counter-argument with "you sad losers have too much time on your hands" deserves.... something bad But back to TCC - I like it anyway but after last night I have newfound respect and love for both it and Sema Thai I made the mistake of trying out this Thai-Mediterranean tapas restaurant in Charlton. Now I know there are so many things wrong with that sentence already but there were mitigating circumstances and it was making the best of a bad job. But still the sheer horror of what I had to eat... oh gawd Cutting a pepper in half, using old roasted chicken leg and drowning the lot in an inch of soy and fish sauce does not a tasty dish make is all I'm saying
