  1. Geometry Wars 2 was released yesterday GW2 It's very very very very lovely. And Pacifism mode is soooo addictive!
  2. Indeed it does - I hope VBC isn't one of those people that can't drink coffee unless it's from.... no I can't bring myself to say it
  3. Easy with the generalisations on White Stuff - I've bought plenty from there. Anyone want to come and have a go??
  4. Is it back on Facebook in this new guise? Wordscraper
  5. phew - and to think I edited my original post only to get a reply to some of the points I removed! A slim volume to be sure and with seriously limited audience - but be my guest I don't think I was suggesting anything like the argument you have demolished. Certainly not seriously. But in the record company's case and digital rights.. for all of the hard working financiers they have failed dismally to adapt to new technology. Yes it will get sorted but the old model of record companies being the paternal figurehead to "the talent" has changed. That must be obvious surely. I'm not advocating anyone steal anything or even that bands should give music away free but the companies (certainly the behemoths) as they currently exist are no longer necessary. As for the Scrabble thing - again I'm not advocating criminal activity - I'm simply saying that the arrangement for years has been mutually beneficial and if it was such an affront to the copyright holders they would have done something sooner. They were complicit - not victims
  6. Some dispute over the number of balls which left the groung - the "official" tally of 6 sounded high to me Highlight of the game for me was the penalty save. Dulwich had a couple of tidy players on the efield last night - I wouldn't fancy my chances against our #2
  7. I too have enjoyed Moulin everytime I've been. It is a proper restaurant as opposed to a pub doing Sunday Lunch however, so that might influence you one way or another
  8. words out of my mouth piers... someone will be saying this is better than the original next
  9. Seriously Declan? Apart from fairly widely reported increases in racism in Ireland generally.. far more vivid for me are my trips back home where, many in my extended family and circle of acquatainces drops the sort of racist accusations that would have had Irish up in arms (oops..) back in the 80s All the usual accusations of foreigners taking jobs, driving down wages etc. And yet all of the feckers have standards of living I could only dream of growing up in Ireland. they bemoan the death of the pub and yet spend most evenings in front of their new plasma screens The world has moved on and they know they can't put signs up in B&Bs saying "no Polish" - but jaysus a fair few people I know would if they could We Irish spread everywhere until the 90s, doing jobs cheaply that others wouldn't, and sent money back home to mammy. And we stand in judgment of others who would do the same in Ireland now? Frankly I'm embarrased when I go home these days
  10. Sounds to me like SOMEBODY in the advertising industry has adopted the mindset of record companies who haven't grasped what's happening in the 21st century ;-) Given the length of time involved why exactly have Hasbro/Mattel been so slow to do something that people clearly want and is sooo easy to implement? My guess is they wanted someone to do the hard work, wait for it to be established and then use strong arm tactics to claim the spoils. Were the guys cheeky in appropriating the game - sure but if Hasbro were at all seious about copyright they would have made a much bigger noise a looong time ago. I know various rumblings have surfaced over the last year or two but nothing that couldn't also be read as a marketing tool to keep the profile up
  11. Ah but what to actually lobby FOR I can't think of any suggestion that won't have an equally opposed group fight it's corner?
  12. One of their number is a prominent forumite and a solid bloke mr Ed - care to step forward?
  13. Hi Suzita I've seen the menu change at The Vale many many times in the last few years which gave me hope the first couple of times but thereafter just seemed like desperation on their part. This COULD be the relaunch that proves me wrong but experience suggests otherwise. Sorry if that's not of any practical help - just a general guide There are several other places which can be recommeneded butI'm guessing the Vale is your local and you'd rather not travel much?
  14. Definitely more noticeable at the mo (Friern Rd) but it goes in cycles - it'll be quieter again in a few week/months. Except we won't be commenting on that
  15. I should be there about 7ish with the sis-in-law to follow not long after
  16. La Locandera? I think it was called Where G&B is now and where Redgewells was? Best draw the curtain over that mis-fire. I only ever saw 2 people eat in there so I'd be surprised if many people can post belated reviews. I didn't know the sisters (I think they were anyway) who tried with the restaurant but I felt pretty bad for them every time I passed
  17. I just remembered - when I was a barman in Swindon, that used to be called "a Henry" Sorry - I digress. But then again - so did you ;-)
  18. Because every month there appears to be several people who don't see the notice about the next "everyone come along and have a drink" message I thought I'd try and draw extra attention this month So the details are here everyone is encouraged to come - veteran, lurker, newbie, friend of any of the aforemention... So.. y'know... do
  19. I think that was a hint Admin -
  20. shosh This should answer Mobile Mast FAQ
  21. you took those seriously? Wow... I thought they were so obviously "wrong" they couldn't be serious Double wow if DPF actually meant them as well I'm confused now
