  1. yeah he supports Ani a lot - his live CD mentions her as well
  2. Now I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours But I think that God's got a sick sense of humour And when I die I expect to find him laughing
  3. I feel the need to go get a drink in the FUBAR This guy IS the house band (he doesn't play London so much these days but if you see his name go - he will single-handedly restore your faith in rock'n'roll) Hammell on Trial - Just watch it all.....then go see him
  4. I'm not sure what the point of the fine is either. A plc or a football club whose raison d-?tre is to make money might suffer from a fine but a police resource funded by the public purse?? Young Cressida has been laying low for the last couple of days hasn't she?
  5. I absolutely love you But I'm an absolute beginner
  6. Cross my psalm with silver UC
  7. it's an aside from my other job as a "piece-maker" - you dig? ;-)
  8. Atila/Mockney Unnecessary bickering here methinks - MP's point about the Brazilian police was an aside on the bigger picture, not the whole point. Atila's pick up on the aside shouldn't precipitate any disagreements. And when Atila said "he looked nervous apparently" I read that as being a criticism of the flimsiness of the whole operation, not a justification Sounds to me like ye both agree but have become entwined over a minor comment on the Brazilian police (on which point I agree with Mockney, but it shouldn't deflect from Atila's point that we should expect better from our police)
  9. Once again, a very good point and well made!
  10. from s leeeetle bit later: "Hot cash days that you trailed around Cold cold nights under chrome and glass Led me down river of perfumed limbs Sent me to the streets with the good time girls"
  11. Was luck enough to be at the Hammy Odeon front row when he did that track in 2002...sigh
  12. Keef I pretty much agree with everything you say there - except you've not seen me watch Arsenal! - I can be embarrassing to myself and those around me
  13. just for the day, hey please come away, hey (awaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy)
  14. where are people watching the game on Sat? I'm torn between hi-def at home or being in the pub with a noisy crowd....
  15. I think Walworth Road is much better than it was earlier this year. And an hour door to door? there is definitely a cut off point where buses zip into town, after which (say about 7:30am at the library?) things get much worse
  16. Mockers doing well with the Morrisey lines - beginning to sound like Sean Hughes in Sean's Show Atila is not only a Gooner but clearly a Bowie fan as well - score "you get older, you get scared, but you get no wiser" "he only had blanks lines to say But he said them in a witty and stylish way"
  17. Cheers Keef I've been looking for a reason to head down to Ganapati and that was just the ticket
  18. I always ask for metrics in William Rose and have never had anything less than the usual friendly service and banter And they don't make anyone queue up, fish. People choose to queue up because of the service and product. I don't know of any similarly sized premises with that many staff. I have ben in the queue as far back as The Irish Shop and still been served within 10 mins
  19. Sadly it isn't so much De Menezes getting killed that is the issue for Blair - it's the web of deceit spun after the event to absolve any blame. I don't buy the whole argument "in the context of London at the time it's excusable to shoot someone multiple times and then lie about his actions prior to the shooting" argument but many people do. Osama, Saddam and the like would love us as a compliant population: "What's that you say? We are under attack from the west and you want us to take up arms and if anyone questions us we can say it is in the context? welll oooh kay then"
  20. No idea Shaggy but I have sympathy. When I first moved to the area about 7 years ago I took the train every day as I was busophobic. But after so many delays and shortened trains I tried the bus and haven't looked back. Station to station on the train is 11 minutes compared to 30 minutes or so on the bus but the buses are more frequent, you don't have to walk through stations when you get there and you are mostly guaranteed a seat
  21. From listening to "people" on the radio, my understanding is that she has plenty of help (both professional and personal) but is arrogant enough to dismiss it We know people in our own lives like this and don't like them just as much - let's not fall for the self-imposed victim status she so patently seeks She married one of the most famous musicians on the planet - if people loved here there would still be tens of thousands of press cuttings. She is divorcing someone, and she can do this out of the public eye and with no press intrusion EASILY
  22. Of course she has been treated badly - but why do people who try and use the press constantly to their own advantage bleat about it when the worm turns? For the record I loathe him and her (based purely on how they come across in public - but I have a 100% track record on this) in near equal measures (although she shades it)
  23. Also in my good books are Vals grocers near Badger Bakery, Dulwich DIY, Cheers offie, G&B, William Rose (already mentioned by Rafester), Moxons, Cheese Block (yep, even tho some people no likee), There are other places which have a different demographic working behind the counter (eg ED) who barely register my existence if I'm browsing but are really sweet if I ask a question or buy anything. I think it can be as much down to the customer as the server (I don't believe the customer is always right for instance) But there is NO HOPE AT ALL for the chemist up by Badger Bakery....
