  1. Thank you Theodore ;-)
  2. Well, there is no kind way of saying this, but having seen here a few times of late in real life.... There is nothing wrong with the way she looks, but she does look her age. (as does Madonna based on what I saw at Live Earth)
  3. What does the parking sign say? If parking is permitted at 9:15 then you got yourself an easy (if mind-bendingly frustrating) case. If it says No Parking I can't see why you even think there is a case?
  4. Sweet. (But then I went off and wrote 2 MORE bleedin' paragraphs about the subject. Which I have just deleted. Because I'm not actually making any new points. Could this be progress for me???? )
  5. All rights reserved. Permission must be sought before reproduction in any other periodical (But granted retrospectively to the lovely, I mean the ever-so-scary CWALD)
  6. * passes Domitianus some Tippex for spelling mistakes * * reminds him that I need it back as my writing is the worst * * passes gold star for concise and clever posting on Americans (but glosses over the OTHER thread ;-) ) * Thanks DM for the drink but can I have a lucozade instead? I'm STILL suffering from an over-egged weekend *
  7. Sorry if I stated the obvious then Keef - just checking (tu) It was the only point I wanted to make really - I certainly didn't want to reopen the Pandora's box that is the chain v indie thing all over again. Although that's the thing with those boxes - you only realise what you've done AFTER the event
  8. 6 police cars all parked up with lots of police going in and out of houses - about 30 mins ago Anyone know what's going on?
  9. You could use the private message function with all interested parties to swap and personal info Mike
  10. Keef - re: your comment "the fact is, there are a load of empty shops on LL that no local person has bothered to take on and open anything good in. So, if a big chain wants to take it, and people like to go to it, why does it bother people so much?!?!?" makes no mention of the fact that the empty shops are empty not because local people don't want to take them on but the landlords involved are deliberately refusing them to any indie business in the hope of getting a big chain in. Hardly seems fair. One recently expanded drinking establishment had to crawls across nails to get the empty shop next door because the landlord wanted FarawaysunDollars Coffee Inc instead. Now had that happened we would probably have lost the local (and very popular) drinking establishment and gained a Coffee Chain. That is why it bothers me so much anyway...
  11. Welcome to the area dave. Just think if you tried for the flat a couple of months back and wandered into the old plough. . for real
  12. Duplicate post by me
  13. Oh I know I shouldn't use Wiki as a basis for proper facts - but it does give an idea of location
  14. Or The Great Train Robbery - Biggs went to what is now The Vale for a pint afterwards (plus ca change)
  15. it definitely stinks of something - I think there may have been some serious damp issues somewhere. Not had the static thing myself Its not even Apollo or FilmNite anymore is it - it's Prime Time. Only other one Ive seen of theres is in Berwick St. Or I might have seen one on Upper St as well. In any case they've not exactly rejuvinated the place have they?
  16. I did wonder Mogs - I may have even placed a bet....
  17. The Strip? Nice Vegas/Las Venturas feel to that Although I guess we know why it's really called that after recent conversations
  18. Funnily enough I had cause to wander through the West End this lunchtime - first time I've been around there during the day for aaaages. I used to work in St James and have to admit that the "scenerey" is a LOT better in summer than it is here at Tower Hill
  19. now you SAY that jonboy but try telling that to the cabbie who started to take me towards Tottenham when I asked for "Lordship Lane" - oops - posted at same time as Lady Gooners point
  20. I'm guilty of saying it myself but I'm not sure I like it - it sort of belongs in the same place as saying Saint Wreath Ham for Streatham
  21. The Plough finally gets redone, a forum drink up is held right on my doorstep and now I realise I will be in Devon that weekend! Curses
  22. which never stopped her crowing "yay me!"
  23. I've had a look at the bills but nothing too exciting - plus I would feel guilty about going behind Ron & Emma's back (they run the East Dulwich Comedy at The Hobgoblin in Forest Hill) After all it was the EDT which ejected the comedy originally. But hey I'll keep an eye on who is playing over the coming months and might change my mind
  24. some info about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lordship_Lane_(Dulwich)
  25. Cheers for the info *Bob* - sounds like it could be great fun. Having watched some films outdoors at Somerset House a few years back it seems have a very different effect on the audience. People tend to be more vocal whilst watching Any of the films named?
