  1. Of course no one will believe me. But... That line i had to type blind as the letters were not showing on screen. Tis true! I believe I meant "similar with livestock"
  2. Louisa trolling again. But if she could stop being so smug and actually show how any individual has changed from pro waitrose to "bothered" I might pay more attention.
  3. Health wise I wouldn't worry a jot What I would worry about is, similar to GM food generally, are we giving up the ability to grow our own food, independent of food cos. Contamination means you won't be able to grow, say, your own spuds should the company which owns the right to the relevant copyright so choose. Simar withlibestocm
  4. Someone should have told Thatcher and successive governments - might have prevented them selling off so many of the damn things
  5. I assume the lease will stipulate the sort of business that can move in ? far likelier to be a pound shop than a change of license to a bar/restaurant But does anyone know what sort of money the lease would be up for?
  6. One thing I did like about that shop was they had comparatively huge selection of foreign films, with many a gem in there. But it seems obvious after multiple rebrands/owners in recent years that the oepration was being run down The Alien/Predator thing was one of my first thoughts as well GG
  7. That side of it goes without saying I hope giggirl. And wasn?t one of the staff subject to a pretty horrific robbery a few months back? So, as ever, condolences to any staff and family affected
  8. why shame on the LoveFilmers? Legally Downloading/Streaming films is going to be the main supply of video content very very soon. There is no way videoshops can stay in business. You may as well complain about there not being enough telegraph companies these days
  9. I would have thought so ? amazed it (and any other video shop) has stayed open so long. Not enough people in 2010 fancy travelling to a shop for a film and then have to take it back Quite a decent size space for whatever replaces it mind
  10. don't be so harsh on yourself Louisa
  11. my first forum drinks was at the CPT - 3 years ago. Sheesh Anyway, you'll know here's some pics from a previous drinks if you want to look for faces
  12. I thought madger?s original post was exactly the right way to go about drumming up support and was so well-expressed I nearly signed up, until I remembered I don?t agree (with all of it anyway) I agree that Goose Green to Budgens is pretty grim on a Friday and Saturday nights ? but if it?s possible to have long drinking hours in other countries, my interest would be in unravelling why it seems to cause such problems here
  13. oops - sorry all. Multiple open windows, people approaching from behind, over-hasty pasting of text. You get the picture
  14. legalB I?m not loving the presumption that smart-phone users don?t bother with conversation, or aren?t very good at it. In fact, it?s got my back up

  16. chicken early before the crowds, back home to watch the match. Sorted
  17. He already has his own thread on here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,501437,501621,page=1#msg-501621
  18. Et tu citizen? Jerk
  19. The good doctor kermodes film podcast. Eloquent, passionate and correct That said he is on holiday for two weeks as of now, but still Danny bakers 5 live podcast over the world cup was awesome as well. Even for non football people Richard bacon 5 live podcasts aren't bad either
  20. Rosie mentions a genuine grievance about the iPhone ? typing. And the rest of it ain?t perfect either. And evangelicists do harp on. And have we mentioned battery life yet? And yet The nay-sayers doth protest too much Having owned other smart phones, there is more chance of me eloping with Ligaturosity (or whatever her name is on THAT thread) than teher is of me going to any other platform It just IS too useful (as a walker) to have a proper navigational device in my pocket at all times It is too useful to not have to carry a phone and an MP3 player seperately Watching live football when in a pub without a TV in times of need ? marvellous Bus and Tube timetables and platform notices ? damn useful Ability to download films instead of waiting for Lovefilm or a trip to the Lane? Sweet Radio tuner to effectively every radio station in the world? Yes please Best internet browser on a phone ? has saved my bacon more than once Blah blah blah Other phones do some or all of these things also I know ? just not as well I don?t NEED any of these things but many of them make my day to day journey?s and idle moments a lot more pleasant So in order: I?m defending the functionality of smartphones first, and the specifics of the iphone second (rather than the other way round)
  21. Oh I dunno - having a stranger come up to me and "politely" tell me I'm being disgusting must be a sure-fire winner
  22. Bit of a non-story that one about the guy being fined tho isn?t it? His response ?I could have thrown them on the ground!? could easily have been ?I could have put them on my dashboard until I got to work/read them or whatever? ? he sounds a knob The official was being a jobsworth for sure but I bet there is more to the story than we read here ? my money is on the guy being abusive to the official so the official thought ?fair enough, I know how to make things hard for you?
