  1. Hey I'm not the most confident guy with ladies/women (and am married anyway!) but if she'd smiled at me three days in a row, I think even I could manage a bit of conversation in return!
  2. Well they claim to have 120, which is pretty good going! It's not open in the evening though so I guess it's mainly "take-out"...
  3. Ahh, the Montague Arms... I played a gig in there shortly before it sadly closed, and that place was incredible. Glad it's open again. The American beer festival looks rather good : http://montaguearms.co.uk/?page_id=37
  4. Well, ours was v slow and unreliable last night and this morning, but just about worked. Sometimes these problems can be quite localised...
  5. May sound a stupid question, but... DID you restart the router, and if so, did you call them back?
  6. Regarding the "why now" question... perhaps the victims just wanted to forget about it and put it behind them. Or maybe they didn't want to drag up painful history if they weren't sure their story would be taken seriously. Perhaps they felt humiliated over what had happened. Seeing others come forward might have given them the strength to follow suit.
  7. I admit to knowing little about the legal system and trial proceedings, but surely someone making shit up for financial reasons would be weeded out pretty easily? Besides, those types are too busy accusing footballers...
  8. I think only the most diehard Rolf fans wouldn't have realised that the writing was on the wall.. the sheer number of victims coming forward speaks for itself.
  9. USA - with players who generally play for second rate euro teams or in their own domestic league - looked significantly more impressive, energetic, and ambitious than England. They were never going to be serious contenders, but I would happily cheer for them any day.
  10. I would just drive (should be quick early in the morning) but you should probably look at the cost of petrol when weighing up vs a B&B.

I wonder how many honest bobbies > have teen sections on their laptops and make > ribald comments about sixteen year-old page three girls. Possibly. Maybe. It's pure speculation so doesn't really mean anything. And you could say something similar about lots of (lesser) crimes. How many policemen have smoked a joint, driven above 70mph, got in a fight, etc. Doesn't mean the police shouldn't continue to apprehend people guilty of these things. > I find press speculation that Rolf will die in prison pretty unedifying. I can certainly agree with that bit.
  12. Exactly... the media makes sure that any case involving a defendent in the public eye automatically becomes high profile. That's not to say that "ordinary blokes" aren't caught too. Saying that, these are not ordinary cases. These guys had an almost unique "opportunity"... access to hundreds and hundreds of children, and a degree of fame which would have given them a strong influence over their victims. But of course it also meant that in years to come when the victims had the courage to face up to what happened, the perpetrator was rather easy to find.

  14. The Patch might be up for it (if they're still into growing their own veg)

Maybe they're from one of the countries that enters the Eurovision but isn't really in Europe... Azerbaijan or Georgia, perhaps.

    Mice problem

They seemed to work for us for a while, but it wasn't long before they were scurrying right past them on their food raids.
  18. I bought a few CDs in California last year... but wouldn't be totally shocked if they're the last CDs I ever buy. But on-demand movies are expensive enough (and DVDs cheap enough) for me to still buy the occasional DVD. Netflix/LoveFilm streaming services are abysmal.
  19. - listened to a cassette - used a radio with an analogue tuner - played a games console without having to download a new version of the software and/or OS before I could start the bloody game

    Mice problem

To be honest the K&O approach of blocking up every single point of entry is by far the best option (but if you already have mice in your house you need to get rid of them somehow)

    Mice problem

We're talking about mice. They are a nuisance, they are unhygienic, they eat your food. They need to be controlled. Kill. Them.
  24. Yeah... well done for trying Ian, but we'd really rather you didn't...
