  1. The NZ girl had Shepherds Bush? Now that *does* sound painful. Always use protection.
  2. Is there a sushi chef on site, or will it be bought in? How much will it cost?
  3. Bulldoze Camberwell? Would it be OK if we kept the bit south of Peckham Rd? Or at least south of Denmark Hill station?
  4. On the whole, I'm sure it's positive that they have a presence in European parliament. As you say... keeping 'green' up there. I like the fact that they have principles, but I disagree with a lot of their ideas. But James, if you agree with what they're trying to do, then that's great... each to their own.

I switched from Labour to Green this time > (like many others it would seem) Citizen's Income is the main policy I disagree with. It is a non-means tested substitute for the dole, and given to everyone. It's Catch-22... if it's not enough to live on, then it's an inadequate solution. But if it is enough to live on, why bother working? They claim that people would still work because they enjoy it... I find this totally laughable. Also, abolishing tax relief on private pension plans is a bad idea. They support abolishment of all animal testing, including pharmaceuticals. They cling on to the crude assumption that all genetic manipulation is bad. They have incredibly ambitious targets for emission reductions, but totally rule out nuclear energy. I don't think this has been thought through properly. They have some progressive ideas, but so much of it seems completely naive to me.
  6. If you are voting for the green party as a form of environmental protest, then fair enough. But I disagree with some of their policies very strongly, I would urge you to re-read them if you have not done so recently.
  7. nbn - spot on, who do these people think they are?
  8. I want you - Elvis Costello
  9. Be Quick Or Be Dead - Iron Maiden
  10. In The City - The Jam
  11. I just had a brownie from Pret. Flavour not rich enough. Too soft and gooey, not as "cakey" as it should be. Insufficient crustiness on the top. You need the correct balance of firmness and gooieness.
  12. Summertime City - Mike Batt
  13. Here Comes The Summer - The Undertones
  14. Well petrol is already taxed heavily, so yeah you automatically pay less tax by owning a more efficient car. But I don't see the problem in providing a little extra incentive (taxation policies are rarely perfectly proportional).
  15. The Thai places in East Dulwich are fairly bog standard.

I bet the VAT on a new bicycle is more > than this! Fancy that... drivers getting rewarded for buying a more fuel efficient vehicle with less emmissions. Whatever next?! Although I don't understand how the comparison with the VAT on a bike is relevant.
  17. Ganapati, if you can get in, and don't mind the journey to Peckham. In ED my choices would be Omrith, Tandoori Nights, Pistachio Club (in that order) - but I don't think any of them can be described as authentic indian food.
  18. Bob already came up with the idea of arsehole torture on the other thread...
  19. ...but we could be if we introduced some good old-fashioned torture?!
