A ramp would not be suitable for Love Dulwich. Gradient would be too steep, also length of ramp would go into road. We considered a ramp in the house to get down 2 steps (internal) but an OT who measured said we would need a clear space of around 9 feet plus because of the height of steps.

Where to take a 9 year old during summer holiday.
Pugwash replied to Pugwash's topic in The Family Room Discussion
At the time of posting previously, we had no idea of the dates we would be having the children. The maths place - you pay for a course of lessons . The coding session would be good but you need to book well in advance. Also grandson has been doing coding since 6 years old. He now has a 'mentoring role' at his primary school as his knowledge of this subject is years above his chronological age. Dates are still up in the air as their father is trying to juggle leave from a new job in the north of the country. -
Poundland East Dulwich soon to be replaced by Tesco Express
Pugwash replied to satsuma's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S. -
Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association. Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.

Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.

Some of us oldies would associate Grove with the old Grove Vale School (which I went to in the 1950s)

Seeking an English Lit A Level tutor to focus on Othello
Pugwash replied to pjal's topic in The Family Room Discussion
One of the best of Shakespeare 's plays. I did Othello for A level. Also seen a number of stage and film versions. Is there any specific aspects of the play that is difficult for your daughter to understand? -
Looking to buy or adopt a dog
Pugwash replied to sarahsouthlondon's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We have had 4 greyhounds - the last one, a bitch, was not speyed so we had to pay for that at our local vet. Only one dog was nervous around children and only one was cat friendly. -
Have you signed up at any Temp Agencies?

Garden clearance and shed dismantling

Cameron is very good, he landscaped our back garden a couple of years ago and also did our front drive. -
Because of the weather which delayed completion with roofer only being able to work certain days, it was up from November - end of January. Went slightly higher than gutters (we also had guttering replaced).

Health Matters in L Lane have a number of practitioners working from there - might include a dietician.. When I was first diagnosed with Type 11 diabetes some 15/20 years ago, I saw a dietician at Kings. I did not need to take medication for this condition until 18 months ago.

£14,000 last year which included £500 for scaffolding.

Maggie Browning usually very good responding to emails. Roving surgeries - we got a letter some time ago that they were in Barry Road between certain times - but neither neighbours of ourselves saw them. Face to face surgeries rarely held now due to violent attacks on MPS and Councillors.

My daughter, a single parent, has been let down by her children's' father, who was supposed to have them for part of the school holidays, So we are helping out. Our grand daughter aged 11 is no problem, but 9year old is more difficult to please. Has an interest in computers and coding, does not like crowds (neurodiverse) Is keen n how things work and enjoys taking things apart. He is already going to the transport museum and has been to the science museum Husband and I have some mobility problems so nothing too strenuous. have done Horniman's a number of times. Is there any local holiday schemes where we can enrol him in for 2/3 days. There seems to be a number relating to singing/dancing and drama but nothing science/maths based. He does not have an interest in sport at the moment. Grand children live in Sussex and will be attending Holiday Clubs for a couple of weeks

Moped crash scams around Barry Road/Underhill/Goodrich
Pugwash replied to Katie B a's topic in Roads & Transport
Friern Road and Goodrich Roads come under Dulwich Hill SNT = was it this team you reported the incident to? At the last SNT meeting, they announced that the crash for scams happenings seem to be tailing off. I agree that coming from Goodrich and turning into Friern is very difficult due to poor visibility at that junction. Best thing to do is ring the police and not get into discussion with the bike rider. A few people have done this and the moped/bike rider have quickly left the scene. -
My daughter is a teacher for 14-18 year olds, If she wanted to start a new job or leave teaching in September, she would have to hand in her notice at the beginning of the summer term. However, she is in West Sussex so may have different contracts, Also she specialises in Special Needs which is a 'shortage area'

Unlocked board - opposite Dry Cleaners near Sainsbury Local. I think the Underhill/Barry Road may be an unlocked on. LBS are bringing back a form of Community Council Meetings - there is one at Charter School (Jarvis Road entrance) tomorrow (Wednesday) ERROR - Meeting was last week (Wednesday) got confused with dates - a senior moment !

Our residents' association used to have keys many moons ago, but when locks were changed, we tried everyone (including ward councillors) to get keys to no avail. A couple of boards are not locked. The Community Councils originally paid for all the notice boards in Dulwich. May have come under the Cleaner Greener budget.

I would also be interested as our shower needs re grouting.

North Cross Road Market- today 10-4pm
Pugwash replied to Sparkler's topic in What's on in East Dulwich
Agree - I used to by from a particular stall a snack which initially started of as around £4 - now it is smaller and over £10. Also cannot afford to pay over £6 for a small loaf. There are a couple of stalls whose goods are reasonable price.
