  1. Thanks again, Rosie! I do think I need more ankle though. No luck so far. Actually I think Time & Life is related to getty. It's very useful to know it's there though.
  2. Thank you both - have now found the Time & Life archive and am trawling through. Rosie - no I haven't - I'm afraid I don't know what that is? Not my usual line of work at all.
  3. Can any of you arty types help - I'm looking for an image of a child in clothes that are too small (I'm thinking of obviously sticking-out ankles and wrists sort of thing) because he or she has outgrown them. It's for a work project - could anyone locate and post something like that?
  4. I sometimes cringe in the memory of stupid things I said. But generally I have regrets only for things I didn't do, not for things I did do.
  5. Oh, I thought you might be latching onto his new-found popularity..
  6. HB, reminds me of the wonderful, wonderful Peter Cook and Dudley Moore sketch when they complain endlessly about gorgeous film stars constantly harrassing them (while continuously trying not to laugh themeselves): Dud: and then I felt a hand on my cheek Pete: (deadpan) Which cheek? Dud: (long pause, lips quivering) Left upper
  7. Sporthuntor, are you calling Barry sill-y?
  8. What is it with this chuffing forum, why are you all obsessed with bottoms? Stop it at once. Moosie Whitehouse.

I'm sorry, HB. I just like buns. Especially the cinnamon ones, and the ones with a light glaze of icing. *trumpets* I think I've been in real life too long, my cyber-personality has become unhinged.
  10. I guess it is unfair to call her plain actually - if I saw her in the street I'm sure I'd think she was pretty, it's just that Famousland has a higher set of standards. Don't think her music's very interesting though and her continual presence in the papers (most recently complaining about her press coverage...hmm..) is a bit tedious. Perhaps I should just duck out of this thread!
  11. Thing is, Ted, it's not just my bottom that's elephantine - I have a very retentive memory too. Come to think of it, I also have a large nose and ears, and like buns.
  12. This thread is a revelation to me, I always considered Lily Allen to be a bit of a Plain Jane and assumed she got her record deal because of her dad - well there it is, you learn a new something every day.
  13. I've seen 4 or 5 of these vans around - they're not all the same type of van, and there are differences in the wobbly paint on the sides (so ner, Annaj and Honaloochie). I quite enjoy spotting them around the place. I can understand how sometimes a particular eyesore can get under your skin, Goose Green, but really in South London is this the Thing Wrong that you choose to get upset about?
  14. Grilled trout is delicious on a barbecue - never done it myself so can't offer a recipe but will try to dig one up (although I think it's just wrapping the fish in foil with marinade). My favourite barbecue recipe is marinading chunks of halloumi, red onion, peppers and mushrooms in olive oil, garlic, rosemary, oregano(etc. etc.) for as long as you can be bothered and then grilling them on skewers. Stole it from my mum who stole it from Delia so it is the height of uncool but really delicious. It's nice to have a chunky dish that isn't meaty too. Also important at barbies are quality salads: slightly warm couscous or better still bulgar wheat with leaves and good tomatoes.
  15. Charliecharlie, how dare you bring up my gravitas and bottom - sob! I'm not ashamed of being a real woman! I'll vote for anyone who annoys Ted.
  16. The wonderfully cool and smooth other side of the pillow Blue sky and sun shining through spring-fresh green leaves The cork's joyful pop Small arms around your neck that tighten when you start to let go Marzipan, o beautiful sweet rich marzipan Singing in harmony with 40 other voices Watching the groom's face when the bride arrive... but now I'm going off topic onto Big Things.
  17. *Pedant's Corner* It was Georgie Porgie with the pudding and pies, kissing the girls and generating a flood of salty grief.
  18. I know. I like to think that I make up in fragrance what I lack in comedy value.
  19. Was that before or after your visit?
  20. EDF In Some Posts On A Thread A Bit Odd Shocker. Although your exaggeration did make me smile. You have kids - did you never try to find out what your local schools are like by asking other parents?
  21. Louise_mckenna, can you justify that statement about Sue's posts with some evidence?
  22. snorky Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Have you actually read them ? Yes, although not all. A few came from a point of view I don't share, but there was just a general feeling of parents discussing what 'they had got' and some people asking for advice on what to do next. I read your post as implying that the majority or the general feel of the thread was creepily obsessive or fetishistic, and I don't agree that it was.
  23. Total of 122 posts on the relatively important family topic of where your kid goes to school hardly qualifies as creepily obsessive or fetishistic. Non-event.
  24. It's being restored, scotcate - see past threads.
  25. *contemplates reminding Jah what it was* *sniggers to self*
