  1. Was thinking it might be nice to have an afternoon gathering for those of us who want to bring families, or just have a drink in the sunshine*. Say, from 3pm? *assuming there IS any sunshine..
  2. Ted, an answer to yours and David's earlier thoughts from Mr. Larkin Side by side, their faces blurred, The earl and countess lie in stone, Their proper habits vaguely shown As jointed armour, stiffened pleat, And that faint hint of the absurd - The little dogs under their feet. Such plainness of the pre-baroque Hardly involves the eye, until It meets his left-hand gauntlet, still Clasped empty in the other; and One sees, with a sharp tender shock, His hand withdrawn, holding her hand. They would not think to lie so long. Such faithfulness in effigy Was just a detail friends would see: A sculptor's sweet commissioned grace Thrown off in helping to prolong The Latin names around the base. They would not guess how early in Their supine stationary voyage The air would change to soundless damage, Turn the old tenantry away; How soon succeeding eyes begin To look, not read. Rigidly, they Persisted, linked, through lengths and breadths Of time. Snow fell, undated. Light Each summer thronged the glass. A bright Litter of birdcalls strewed the same Bone-riddled ground. And up the paths The endless altered people came, Washing at their identity. Now, helpless in the hollow of An unarmorial age, a trough Of smoke in slow suspended skeins Above their scrap of history, Only an attitude remains: Time has transfigured them into Untruth. The stone fidelity They hardly meant has come to be Their final blazon, and to prove Our almost-instinct almost true: What will survive of us is love.

In my book, it's them > who are scum, not me for leaving the bag, Keef, I think edmummy was jokingly referring to the title of the thread and to her own moniker. Not sure how snorky knew it was a 'mummy' but no doubt he has his methods.

    'Our' song

Sorry BBW, I'm getting 'this video is not available in your country'... Off to make a crow blush now.
  5. It's the overly detailed 'my mate had the steak tartare with garnish of fried wombat droppings and I had the rich-yet-gooey Portuguese chocolate lardons - yummy' that gives it away for me.

    'Our' song

Don't get Rosie's, BBW? I typed BBQ by mistake then... hmm, summer must be coming.
  7. No, that would have been 'Continued obscene postings....'
  8. Ooh, yes I agree snorky - Green and Blue is great.
  9. Oh sorry reetpetite, missed that comment.

One of the other bridges has its top off too - perhaps it's a maintenance job rather than vandalism.
  11. Charlie, Woof has hidden depths, they add to his already considerable charm.
  12. Hoping I won't annoy indiepanda with this one, not my intention - but I'd say if someone compliments you you don't have to sleep with them, but if they complement you you should consider it! :) Mick Mac, that is so naff. Get over yourself.

Moos - speaking whenever she likes since the good old days.
  14. Congratulations, a lovely story and a lovely-sounding proposal! Hurrah.
  15. Me too - but now it feels as though I'll never forget the theme tune. Makes the theme for 'Timmy Time' seem subtly beautiful.
  16. Nice work, Woof and Big.
  17. It really was funny till the derivative English bloke showed up.

  22. I'm terribly sorry to interrupt, but it's actually 'imbecilic'. Please carry on.
  23. Strange, RosieH has always seemed pretty chilled and easy to get on with to me.
  24. Perhaps gag wasn't quite the mot juste in the context of this thread.
  25. Oh sorry, I thought you would all get my hilarious gag.
