  1. Ady's Road sometimes has an apostrophe and sometimes not. The reason is that the sign-writing people don't like them, so they are being gradually taken away. Dunstan's Grove probably has an older sign.
  2. Are the comments from 'our' John and 'our' James? Very much in character...
  3. Ha ha - I would have put ???? on its being Carnelli. (I set 'em up...)
  4. Is that the red one? No, I can't go on with this.
  5. Apparently they speak funny and wear odd clothes! Ugh, how distasteful. Some people are just so stupid, aren't they? I think many of them deserve to be poor, not that I'd wish to be uncharitable, I give to the Lifeboats. I work very hard for my money, and don't speak strangely or associate with 'characters' as you might call them. People should be more like me, then I would be able to respect and understand them.
  6. ..speaks the LL Lothario.
  7. Oh no!!! Really. I'm very busy. I can't even find time to read the 3 threads on the first page that are by people in similar positions to mine! Ha ha! So, is there lots of crime? Apparently Peckham is quite close by? Or do I mean Wandsworth? We're looking in Shepherd's Bush too so I get confused. What's the nearest tube?
  8. I'm reading 'Guilty Pleasures' by Tasmina Perry, which is fab. It has lots of conspiracies, shopping, brilliant young entrepreneurs making unlikely profits off the back of thin ideas, glamorous locations, sex, family feuds, attempted murder, true love, and more sex and shopping. What do you mean, I'm the only person in ED that reads trash? How dare you.
  9. Don't be silly, LE, they have radios for that sort of thing.
  10. Shucks, missed the race again, but managed to catch a little bit of the aftermath, and the glowy Allycat with her sparkler, as well as a number of other glamorous Forumites and LE's sweet dog. And sincere apologies to Mr. Jones for my very obvious amazement when he turned out to be a very normal and nice-looking young man and not the Fat Controller. Ahem. *resolves to spend less time watching children's television. "They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight.."*
  11. Tell me everything about it!!!! I can't be bothere dto read te forum. :)):)):)) Hope you'll all be really welcoming and all that.
  12. Yes! Apparently they were after some criminals. That's what I heard, anyway.
  13. To the person that found a blue scarf and tied it to a tree - thank you. It's been reunited with its owner. Your honesty and kindness cheered up a rather grey-starting morning.
  14. Snorky - now more withy than pithy. Pity.
  15. Bah, turn your back for 5 minutes and miss a corker from Alan that is so harsh it has to be edited out! Or was it another property prediction?
  16. This is getting interesting, like being a new girlfriend at a family re-union. No idea what's going on but the atmosphere is clearly starting to hiss...
  17. I take your point. I did hesitate over the term but 'youths' is so tabloid.
  18. Previous threads have expressed similar concerns to mine, and also some people seem to be cross about the permission being 'forced through' - I don't know whether it was or not so I can't comment on that. And the idea of 900 young men between 11 and 18 pouring out of its gates en masse into Peckham and ED at 3.30 every day? I do get the feeling that some residents are nervous about that, to put it politely. Others (like me) with growing young men in their homes, are hopeful that it will solve an educational problem in our area.
  19. I want to come along just to see Mrs Onion-To-Be's rock! *sparkle, sparkle*
  20. My concerns (not sure about negative feelings) is what it will be like teaching 900 boys on a site previously used to teach 350. All the plans bout rotating breaks and using other schools' sports sites seem a bit fragile.
  21. Hona, you were wise and we were foolish. We have seen these posts and this posturing so very many times before and yet, and yet...
  22. So... you conclude from the fact of the owner failing to comply with regulations that it was the regulations' fault? Was this you at school? Teacher - Beard Mi, come here. Did you or did you not punch Moustache Ma. in the nose during break? Beard (snivelingly) Wasn't my fault, Miss, his nose got in the way of my fist!
