  1. Nice flounce! We only invited neighbours that we had met at that point...
  2. I'd get there early - the restaurant area of the waiting lounge has high chairs and is generally relatively baby friendly. We've done an early flight from City a few times with baby in tow, and getting there in time to stuff breakfast in him worked quite well.
  3. Clean warthogs, Hona.

  6. Bless you, spark - what a great post. Here's to your health and happiness. I too think King's is marvellous. I have only limited experience of it myself, but a good friend of mine is currently undergoing regular treatment there and has nothing but praise for the nurses taking care of her, in contrast to the staff at another London hospital who were rather different.
  7. Just to put the case for neighbours from the other side, we received a very loud and acidic SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! from the flat upstairs and to the right when we had our moving-in party, because we were obviously sitting around and talking too loudly. Without music. At 10 o'clock at night.
  8. For a reasonable proportion of yesterday, my son was wearing only a colander.

  10. Even a spoiled ballot paper could be argued to be empowering the extremist parties. Extremists and angry people who've been swayed by recent events and publicity will vote. Woolly unsures and can't-be-bothereders won't vote. A vote for a mainstream party you can bear or another small non-insane party is a better choice IMO.

  16. DM ran out of paint stripper.
  17. Emily, perhaps they were still in the process of washing and ironing it, or perhaps it had been re-sorted and sent to a different branch?

*storms in* Where is it??! Where is it?! I KNOW I left it here! *picks up and discards some dodgy mag with "I belong 2 Mike P - pors off" scribbled on the front* That's not it! Where is it?!! I'll get that RosieH, I'll get her good, the cocktail-swilling minx! *storms out*
  19. BBW, it's very clear from your posts that you love and in many ways are in awe of your father. It sounds as though he has a very definite view of what his place is in the family, and what his rights are - and that you too either consciously or unconsciously are reinforcing that view. Dad treats your home as his own? You react exactly as you might expect a child to - by being cheeky and flicking a rubber band at him. The adult part of you is furious that he treats you as a child, but the child part of you invites him to. Sounds as though he could still beat you in a fight, and if that's your criterion for who gets to be top dog in your home, then I suggest you let him have the chair. But if you really want to be the adult, you need to stand up to him on your own terms. And maybe buy an ashtray.

  21. the fiends - they knocked out your T's!

  24. So, that's the Moosling (who will be Nooly Too) & Sanity Kid (also 2), anyone else bringing descendents? Citizen, Keef, Quids? lenk, this might be one for you to come to later in the evening...
