  1. I agree it's sad - but I haven't been for ages. So I guess it's own my fault, as it were. Getting to Greenwich on public transport is a real pain from my neckham Peckham.
  2. bawdy-nan, I was amused by your making free use of pejorative terms regarding other posters but getting huffy when someone attacked an institution you are obviously fond of - and one, which you admit is indeed in the majority the playground of the privileged. The rights and wrongs of each argument aside, my view is that when you start using cheap and easy insults but protest when others do the same, you look rather silly.
  3. There's no such thing as Greebo music!* *or, if there is I haven't heard of it.
  4. It's 'we trolls' or have standards been slipping since I was a child? Nowadays you probably go around the place saying 'whose that trip-trapping over my bridge'.
  5. TLS, you weren't one of those of whom I spoke. However, there are contributors to that thread who remain in my mind The Unforgiven. And I assert that 'bird' is the appropriate counterpart to 'bloke', just as 'woman' is to 'man' and 'lady' to 'gentleman'. Any questions? See, now I'm going to have to think of something to say about the C-charge in order to avoid accusations of thread de-railing. Tschah. OK - I am in favour. I am not in favour of the Western extension. And I think the chuffing Embassies should pay up, the arrogant so-and-so's.
  6. northlondoner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- .......Just an ordinary > bloke ......... Hey northlondoner, I thought you was a bird. No idea why. Sorry, was that off topic?
  7. What bawdy-nan means is that if someone attacks an institution with which she has an affiliation (Cambridge) then it's offensive and inaccurate but if somone defends a local school she doesn't like they are tedious and unimaginative. Come on, boswell, keep up.
  8. No, what giggirl said. Really. He's just an annoying egotistical rock star, he's not Josef Mengele
  9. Right cartoon, wrong character (after my brilliant piece of detection today).
  10. 'scool, as long as the image is small enough not to distort the page. I like your romper suit, by the way, tres chic.
  11. Whoop whoop - I agree with charliecharlie. Here's my alter ego:-
  12. Yes but only the people who are being commented on have too much time on their hands. The people doing the commenting are frightfully busy and important and only snatching a moment from their hurried, busy, important days to locate a particular thread - almost at random, it has to happen so fast - and tell everyone else how much time they are wasting.

    David Bowie...

    Sorry chaps, my fault.

    David Bowie...

Unemployment did reach 2m in 1980, and 3m in 1983.
  15. Oh, well, er yes. To be fair though Atila, I think the link Giggirl posted could have been seen by some as a bit of a clue!
  16. Hee hee! You've even got the right album! "Then I met an Englishman - ohhhhhhhhhhh, he said. Won't you walk up and down my spine It makes me feel strangely alive I said - in these shoes? I doubt you'd survive...." Have quite often made a tit of myself singing it to myself when plugged into the iPod.
  17. *pops head back round door to say* aw, fanks
  18. *haughtily* Amateurs. *sweeps round on red heel, and stalks off, silk coat billowing around well-turned ankles*
  19. Was that for me? Am I supposed to tell you my song?
  20. AlleynAlleyn, have a look through AFN's prior posts before you make a call on that one.
  21. Yes, it's Kirsty! As you say, not very good singing voice - but I chose her cos I like the lyrics. Still, if there are no fans on the Forum, should I withdraw my entry and hand over to someone else?
  22. Yeah, sod it. They're all bastards. *hic* *erratic splosh*
  23. That was meant to be a clue to the songwriter - I like the way she can address these topics with humour. Here are the next few lines, which with my smutty sense of humour I always chuckle at Close my eyes and sweeten me with lies Pierce my skin with a few well chosen words Now you can stuff me with whatever you've got handy And on a cold grey day a cold grey man will do ... and here's a large single malt, now pull yourself together, woman.
  24. Ummmm... should you be allowed to guess them all at once? OK, yes it's one of those. It's a sad, life-has-passed-me-by, why-do-I-always-choose-the-wrong-men song.
