  1. no worries on the 7.50 either. 'cept it was dead full, but that's BAU as we wanky consultancy folk say.
  2. I did think it little more than coincidence though that they had the evil, cunning and dangerous stalking wolf on the Camberwell side and the precious, delicate and defencless lambs on the East Dulwich side! Why does everything have to be turned into postcode nonsense? Sheesh. I was braced not to like the sculptures as I don't think the pictures linked to the thread did them justice but I saw them this week for the first time, and I love them. The metal is used in so many creative ways - viz. the overlapping scales that make up the faces vs the looping tubes that represent the curly coats of the sheep, and the whole composition is wonderfully tense.
  3. Unfortunately English national dress has become the world's business wear. Stick a suit on. Oh, and the rose behind the ear is a plan! What about a red rose behind your left (or westward) ear, and a white rose behind your right (or eastward) ear, and then your face can battle with itself.
  4. *tests the current - a quick, expert flip of the wrist, and the fly soars over - the satisfying plop as it lands - the gentle tug of the moving tarn - the fisherman knows this waterway is full of his potential prey, but who will it be? Perhaps he might even dream of landing the great MacGabhann with such a lure*
  5. AFN, you've missed your target, snorky is more on the mark. There may be concern about the validity of the new Harris school and the sandwiching of 900 boys into 4 square inches, but very few ED folk will be sending their kids to Dulwich College. Don't over egg the class war pudding, or you'll find yourself with some unexpected middle-class allies. Now, Centre Court or No.1?
  6. Can I join you folks? Rough galloping glass of red for me, please.

BBW, you seem like a nice wolf to me but some people simply are more sensitive to insult than others, and there's no reason why their feelings should be less important than yours. Sorry. Buy you a beer?
  8. Beeney is incredibly annoying. But I don't see that Kirstie is any more annoying than Phil - they have pretty much the same MO, haven't they?
  9. BBW - So, a bunch of people have complained about you multiple times, and you've been on the point of being banned from the Forum multiple times, but these people are the ones who should modify their behaviour? FFS.

OK - I thought the implication of "if it was a wing of Dulwich College i am sure the road works would be less and the moaning almost non existent." is that a) the roadworks might be done more efficiently - clearly nonsense so I ignored that bit and b) that people wouldn't complain if there were roadworks for a public school. So if all the parents of DC students were local residents then I can see what you might be saying, but surely that's not the case? Please explain your point, or I shall put my designer sunglasses on and drag you off to Wimbledon!

HeidiHi, I think it's pretty safe to say that the poster was just making that up. Although since there were I think a few votes for the BNP in the last local elections, it's likely that there are residents of ED that are members. Obviously, we don't know if any are forumites. I'd like to hope not, but one doesn't know.
  12. Why do you think that? What proportion of Dulwich College students do you think is resident in ED?
  13. No, what he is saying is that you would be quite right to assume that the new arrival was a fervent badger-muncher, or whatever. Not only that, but presumably you could refer to our arriviste as 'that badger muncher'. And by total and utter co-incidence, it means that he can make a negative assessment of black people.
  14. Que? Have I missed a leetle dust-up?
  15. HH would say anything or do anything to manoevre into position for PM'ship. Much as I'd like to see a female PM, she is wholly unqualified and undesirable.

    OHMYGOD!

Mikecg, take it as a sign of love.
  18. HonaloochieB, I heard from some hirsute big-toothed bloke in the queue for William Rose that you were running for Mayor! Is it true?
  19. (hopefully) I've finished mine.
  20. Congratulations Pickle! Hope you're planning to celebrate sans offspring on March 17th..
  21. Am I too late? Large glass of claret please.

  23. As the person Heidihi refers to in re: the burglary post I will point out that what I thought was unacceptable was making a joke about 'deadlocks against dreadlocks'. I also think that over-sensitivity is better than insensitivity. I agree with much of what HeidiHi posts but at the end of the day if you aren't sure ... don't post it.
  24. Xackly, p_in_ed - glad you took it to heart and are appropriately chastened. AFN to tell you the right shade for an ED door? What were you thinking? On topic - er - I agree with the spirit of respect for others' points of view.. and here's mine. I'd have supported the retention of the fence if it worked. Even though it was ugly. But it didn't work, and GG does look a bit better without it. Sadly, it remains an unsafe place for small children and an unsavoury prospect for a picnicker.
