  1. Fuschia, I'll check - yes vit D but think also iron.
  2. My HV has given me vitamin supplements for my baby, saying that 'they' were now recommending all exclusively breastfed babies be given supplemental vitamins because of iron and other vitamin deficiencies. Is that not standard across the board these days?
  3. Fine work, Rosie!
  4. Is 10 weeks a big growth spurt? Little Twosling fed every hour after 2 last night, and he's usually a 2-hour man, plus he's unusually unwilling to be held by anyone other than me. He's a wee one anyway, so I guess no surprise... how did parents of 5'10" and 6'3" produce a little bean on the 9th percentile ? :-)
  5. I scorn your revised calendar, mainly on the grounds that it's moved me from a cool sign to a naff one.
  6. Well done, weegee.
  7. Thanks again ladies. We appear to be settling down a little, last night he didn't wake every hour (yippee) and is no longer distressed by wind. Saffron, agree green poo often means too much foremilk but it can also be caused by diarrhoea. Rather oddly, he woke at 11.30 last night after almost 4 hours between feeds (which is very long for him) and though clearly ravenous and frantically attacking the bottle only managed to get half of it down in 20 minutes. Tried a couple of teats but eventually gave up, and breastfed him instead, which he was happy with. Maybe Avent no.2 teats too 'newborn' for him by now, and might try another brand.
  8. Could the answer be partly that you have very small children (at least, Pickle I know you do)? You will be remembering your mothers' expertise from a time when you were older and spending time at school, and she would have had a decade or so to perfect her skills. Maybe when your mothers had babies they were untidy too! Just a thought.
  9. Sorry, I was unclear - not burpy windiness, but discomfort in his gut (I asssume) with lots of wriggling and crying eventually relieved by farting and/or the green poo.
  10. Many thanks - we are already using Aptamil but perhaps I'll try Hipp if there's no improvement.
  11. Tapping the expertise of the Family Room! Twosling (10 weeks) has started having a regular bottle of formula each evening as a top-up to his feed. He sometimes doesn't want any, but generally takes 1-3oz of the 4oz he's offered. He's also had a couple of bouts of windiness and green, 'upset tummy' poos in the same period, the last 2-3 weeks. Might be co-incidence, and HV didn't think there was any connection, but wondered if anyone had heard of formula, or particular brands, causing wind? Many thanks! Moos
  12. I seemto be doing a fine job of making all the same mistakes all ove again! :-)
  13. What everyone said re: 3! But on a positive note, I've heard good things about 4 too, Pickle.
  14. Happy birthday, Karter!
  15. Don't leave me in here with these people! See you when you get back. xxMoos

    classy hotel

There's a sign on Uplands Road that says 'East Dulwich Hotel' on a building that otherwise looks like an ordinary house.
  17. My 3.5 year old can dress himself if we have half an hour free and I have the energy to nag him through a torrent of moans of 'I caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan't', but it's an uphill struggle. I know some kids can't wait to brush their own teeth, feed themselves, dress themselves but my son would happily be spoonfed and have someone put his pants on for him every day! Hoping he'll change his expectations of what is normal some day, but it seems to be a long road.
  18. People are just joshing with you, Aquarius. After all, anonymity is one of the prime characteristics of Internet communication, and that anonymity is precious to many. (that said, I reckon you could work out the sex of the vast majority ofthose that have posted on this thread without too much trouble!) For the record, I may not be a lady but I'm all woman. Also my moniker should be pronounced to suggest that I'm bovine, rather than to suggest I'm close cousins with the elk. Rhymes with booze and shoes, and is not loose onthe hoos.
  19. We used Keen too, and the driver was very considerate with regard to going over speed bumps and around corners. Probably terrified for his upholstery, poor chap, but was kind enough to wish us a safe delivery at the end of the ride!
  20. Think all the eateries in ED courting the mummy pound are breastfeeding friendly, especially during the day. Some places are less baby friendly in the evening (nothing to do with feeding), which IMO is reasonable. Didn't know about the change in law, that's interesting. I thought it was only in Scotland that breastfeeding was protected in law.
  21. Really? I'm with my M8 Jezza.
  22. Yes indeedy, that and 'Lace' represent the majority of my education.
  23. Mr Ben, just seen this thread and so sorry this happened to you. Best wishes for a swift recovery. Kisses Moos
  24. Oh God. It's like getting caught by the prefects round here. Come on girls, let's go behind the bike sheds, I've got 10 Marlboro Lights and a dogeared copy of 'Riders'.
  25. Stoopidass I-phone. Anyway. The people. The shops and parks and things are nice too, though.
