Agreed, and the MIND organisation were very quick to apologise to the lady in question, who accepted the apology. She also said on the same thread 'I also want to say that I think Mind does some very good work and that I do not want publicity to take away from this, Really don't want to rehash the debate but would like to set the record straight for anyone who didn't want to wade through pages of posts.

Hilarious thread on "East Dulwich Borders" Forum

Seems if you bump the threads (or actually add a sensible comment :-$) it goes away.. -
Barry, please could you investigate the clock on platform one of ED station? It's not showing the time. many thanks!

Ah, a change of tack - good move. Your previous post was indeed unworthy of a logician, I too would be moving away from it at speed. So these aggressive and intimidating pregnant people have now progressed from 'hovering' in an accusatory manner to 'behaving intimidatingly' in a manner that causes you to become ill with stress. What do they do, wave their bellies at you? But I am glad to hear that your main concern is for consideration for other people, most laudable.

Dulwich Medical Centre (Post removed)

Admin has already confirmed that people did complain in the last post. In the original version, it reads c***s, which is fairly clear. Whether or not you find it offensive, a number of people did and complained, I think Admin was right to respond. -

Not local but at least South London: a quick plug for my friend's pub the Bellevue on Battersea High Street which has a Moroccan chef. -
Quids, this one is for you then, x. The trouble with jrussel's argument from a purely logical perspective is that the solution he proposes will not, I think, give him what he wants. If pregnant women have to pay extra for their tickets, then they will naturally demand a seat. Not only the ones with the obvious bumps (4-5 months+ pregnant) and not only the assertive ones, but all of them and for all 9 months of their pregnancy. No more lurking at back, less-crowded carriages either, they will all be marching to the front carriages and sitting down. In effect, a commuter first class would have been recreated. So instead of having to give up his seat occasionally I imagine he might have to give up his seat every day, excluded from the, forgive me, Club Class. What I think he really wants is the courage to deny a pregnant woman a seat. My advice to him is that he either accepts that there is a vestige of humanity and kindness marring the awful purity of his solipsistic soul and stands up with grace, or else looks the pregnant woman in the eye, tells her it's a lifestyle choice and goes on reading his paper. Jrussel, only you can save yourself. Stand up, or grow a pair.

Morning all thanks so much for all your advice. First of all, complete success with the lifting, he did a huge sleeping pee on the loo last night at 11 and slept dry till 7, when he happily got up and went to the loo again, so result! (call me Oliver James, but is he going to be lying on the therapist's couch in 40 years saying "I had that dream again. These giants kept lifting me up and making me wee on command."?) I think I will persevere and continue the lifting, also the bottle is also a good idea, will give that a go. My main concern is that he doesn't get upset with continued accidents, and I think the way forward is to invest in the double-sheet protection (thanks Fuschia and Molly) and perhaps pyjamas pants so it is easy for him and no big deal. I had read about the hormone production, and since he usually does enormous morning pees he may not be physiologically there but since he's mentally ready and so far not fazed by accidents I think we have to press on. Another problem solved by the Family Room Massive, thanks very much!! -
What an appalling post. Shame on you, eater81.

Thanks all Becca, we do have a mattress protector so no actual damage, just a faff - maybe I could put a Huggies thingy on top of the sheet? Don't want to make him uncomfortable but avoiding changing the sheet would be a godsend, as it involves taking all the scrillion stuffed animals off his bed and picking up the mattress etc. etc. Anything that gets him back into bed faster instead of sitting on his chair chirping at me while I fiddle about would be marvellous. I will try the lifting, thanks supergolden88, and will try limiting drinks after 6 but would be a bit reluctant to limit too much given the warm weather. gwod, he hates the potty and pretty much went straight to peeing on the loo - we might have to bite the bullet on that one. I have asked him to call for me if he needs a pee so I can help him, but it might be a bit of an ask. Argh.. -
My just-turned 3yo has been dry during the day barring minor accidents for months, including his 2-hour daily naps. In recent weeks he's woken up with a dry nappy in the morning increasingly often, and last week it was every day. He's also now very reluctant to wear a nappy at night, because "he's a big boy now and nappies are for babies" (bless him, 3ft tall..). So I persuaded him to keep one on for all of last week and waited for a) the weekend and b) OH to come home from a business trip (neh heh heh). 1st 2 nights - perfect, dry pyjamas in the morning, lots of praise etc. etc. But last 2 nights, we were woken very early by him in tears, having copiously wet the bed. Not a big deal in itself (*yawns*) but am now not sure that I've done the right thing. I was in no hurry to take the night-time nappy off, as he seems quite young to be 100% toilet trained, but was persuaded by his dry nappies and keenness to move on. Anyone got any good advice? Do we keep at it, or go back to nappies? If the former, any brilliant tips on waterproof comfortable covers that can be easily whipped off in those early-morning fumble-fingered moments? If the latter, what should I be looking for to know when he's really ready? Many thanks!

I'd go with the screens. Not sure about anyone else's experiences, but I don't see a big queue of people waiting to swipe their cards.

why do people think they can say anything when you're pregnant!

That's just practice. When the baby is born and you start doing everything wrong then they really get into their stride. -
I was sick as a parrot, and carried a high, round bump. Everyone from the Eastern European Sainsbury's car cleaning guy to the guy in Starbucks to the cleaner at work to every bugger I saw on the street and had an opinion he couldn't keep to himself said 'Ooh, you're having a boy!'. The slight anti-climax to this story is that I did have a boy..

Completely agree, and I get a bit annoyed by people feeding other people's cats when they are clearly healthy and not lost. One of our (well, technically 'our') cats has several homes, and half the street knows his name. When I've asked neighbours not to feed him as he has a home that misses him with plenty of food, I get responses like 'Oh, but my little girl really loves him' and 'Oh, we don't feed him - just give him some milk'. Next time I take him to the vet I'll be pro-rating the bill and distributing around the neighbourhood.
