  1. invalid comparison sf, the growth rate is too high.
  2. Is this like the New Years death lists? Can we have ceased existences as well as failed states? I'm going to put Bahrain, Pakistan and S. Korea as the coupon buster on mine.
  3. That could be more easily achieved by just running around in a crazy costume that spans most of the width of the road surely, damn sight cheaper too. Girl on back optional, as is slapstick rollerskate routine.
  4. I <3 woody's occasional bouts of genius!
  5. brilliant review written over a week, starting at a dismissive "fun, but too small, simple and hard to provide lasting pleasure" 60%, rising to a "In moments when it has me in rapt attention on its dancefloor, it?s the greatest game in the world" 96% http://www.pcgamer.com/review/super-hexagon-review/ I also loved "I?ve discovered I play better when I?m in conversation with someone at the same time, so I start chatting to whoever?s nearby while I play"
  6. The Day Today hasn't aged one iota though, amazingly prescient stuff too!
  7. weirdly I've not been taken by any of the knowingly retro high score fests, kicked off by Canabalt. But this one just gets under your skin, I find myself thinking about it more than is healthy, and after more than 10 minutes everything in the universe is somehow compreshensible through its lens. Nothing has done that since the gameboy tetris
  8. It's barking mad. It's definitely about practicing and getting into a rhythm. Also you can turn sooner than you think, you have more space to breathe than your senses (wired by claustrophobic near panic) are led to believe. I've got to 24 about 10 times now and it's one of those slight changes of pace that cause you to fatally freeze, I've only managed 25 once so far, but I know I can crack it. Square, here I come!!!!
  9. ter?giv?er?sate (tr-jvr-st, t?rj-vr-) intr.v. ter?giv?er?sat?ed, ter?giv?er?sat?ing, ter?giv?er?sates 1. To use evasions or ambiguities; equivocate. 2. To change sides; apostatize. The context was the second meaning "Count Robert of Alen?on triggered further tergiversations with his change of alleigance to Phillip" total false friend in Spanish tergiversaci?n f. Interpretaci?n err?nea de una palabra o de un suceso. All from Latin: tergiversor - To turn one's back, from Tergum, hind part. So figuratively it's to do a moonie?
  10. This is all very terrestrial analysis, I'm liking New New Nexus :)
  11. 25. I think you need to reach a zen doing without understanding type state. Funnily enough whenever I have a good go I become convinced I'm getting the hang of it, the next go is invariably 1.2 seconds
  12. Corrr. 17 seconds. Can't make screenshots work, somebody screwed with the buttons. Trick seems to be indecision equals death.
  13. The real date that goes down in history is that New Nexus has finally voiced an opinion of his own with a link to a mainstream source, hurrah for that man!
  14. I wanted to like queen of denmark more than I did, ot was more something to be admired than enjoyed, though there are some beautiful stand out tunes. Will check on spotify before committing to a second. Just got Help She Can't Swim's second and final album from an amazon partner for 96p, joy!!
  15. I get the feeling it'd be easier with an old school video games cabinet joystick, rather than touch screen controls. 9.7 so far.
  16. Will get it when tit* drops to twenty quid I reckon. Has anyone played Super Hexagon on iOS/Android? Ludicrously hard, reminds you that games were difficult growing up, not just pretty things that hold your hand. I have yet to make it to level 2 (ie survived for ten seconds) *genuine mistake I kid you not!!!
  17. Unkown Mortal Orchestra. How is the new John Grant, his debut made for some uneasy listening, that album was clearly a massive act of catharsis.
  18. Best comedian on telly is Peter Griifin of course.
  19. Everton 2 Man City 1 Aston Villa 1 QPR 1 Southampton 1 Liverpool 1 Stoke 2 West Brom 0 Swansea 1 Arsenal 0 Man Utd 3 Reading 0 Sunderland 1 Norwich 1 Tottenham 1 Fulham 1 Chelsea 1 West Ham 1 Wigan 1 Newcastle 0 my predictions look like that old ascii racing game on the bbc micro
  20. Totally agree on TJ's summation of Gervais, but would add I quite enjoyed Life's Too Short. It was the same wwell trodden car crash formula, but 'Warren' Davies was brilliant at sending himself up!
  21. --- aaa bah humbug essentially, I'll be complaining about three-wheeled prams next --
  22. "But they do acquire that cat that got the cream pretty quickly don't they? " Yep, Simon Pegg has gone from highly regarded folk hero for my generation to smug luvvie twankter in my book.
  23. "As with most oil economies he appears to have spent it liberally on the poor" errrrrr...most oil economies are kleptocratic, they're rarely particularly magnanimous socially speaking. And everybody is 'borrowing large sums from china'. It's not like we all go to the bank of china applying for loans. We issue bonds and hope the market buys them, apart from the usual institutional types, the biggest buyer of national debt is China, for everyone. This oft repeated refrain is a total red herring. The economy was tanking before Chavez took power and he has reined in the worst excesses of rampant corruption that was by and large responsible for those troubles. The economy isn't in dire straits now, it's just that compared to boom in Brazil and a resurgent Argentina (as fragile as that is) it could be said to have underperformed and not diversified from oil enough, but hardly a damning indictment of is it. And given S. Aerica's depressingly long history of popular coups turned bloody juntas, the past fifteen years have ben remarkably stable and peaceful. Considering the abysmal human rights records and concentration of wealth in the leadership of our oil rich allies in the arabian peninsular or west africa, Venezuala is practically bloody Norway. He seems to have become a pariah for daring to thumb his nose at the Monroe Doctrine frankly. I for one will miss him if only for the donkey speech!!
  24. "Mitchell and Webb" like all sketch shows, even the best of them, often involves sifting through the dross. There is a high 'moments of genius' count in that show though. As performers I guess they're probably quite marmite, but I think they're superb.
  25. I meant it about Ben & Holly.
