I seem to remember from my A-Level Psychology that Australian women were the most likely to tell the man in the white coat to take a running jump when asked to up the voltage.

If you don't mind dodging the dog turds, broken glass, slippery leaves, not-to concerned pedestrians and the lack of lighting the canal route is very good. If you are averse to those things, as I was, I'd say c_m_h's route is as good as any.

I wasn't commenting on Vince, I admire his dedication. I just think it's a depressing sitiution and sounds exhausting and financially costly.
