Not to prolong this argument any more than I should but I was just wondering what planet you were living on at the time? The vitriol for Ronaldo ('spotty tosser' if actually using his name confuses you) was unbridled. Along the same lines as Cantona 'he'll never play in this country and probably never play pro football again', Beckham, same thing after the France 98 red card and then Ronaldo. In fact weren't there effigies hung a la Beckham of him too? What you seem to have misunderstood is that people's appetite for this vitriol soon disappears. The press get bored and so do the fans. How many games into the season did we get before opposing fans stopped booing him? Like a true pro (and an adult) he got his head down, became a better player and if truth be told stopped diving as much as he used to. And before you pick me up on that, I know he still dives. There was a couple last night in fact but it's still less.
  2. Blimey, I really did touch a nerve. As I said, the comment was tongue in cheek, no offence meant, I don't want your mum to die or anything. In fact I'm too old for all this. May the best team win tonight (although, and I am saying this without malice, I think Liverpool might get a result). As for being plastic, I've been called that for many years and worse so do your worst.

What a prat. A compliment at last! Anna, I didn't think it was that harsh, in fact it was tongue in cheek but it made Atila throw his toys out so he must be nervous. As far as ticketing goes you'd expect nothing less confusing/counter-intuitive from a governing body would you?
  4. Well, I hope you and your son have a terrible time and then can't get home....or something equally as irksome. As for Neville and Scholes well I can't see the Neville as donkey analogy but I don't think you'll find a UNITED fan out there who wouldn't agree with the fact he can't tackle. Personally, I wouldn't say he was particularly malicious though just misguided about his own tackling prowess.
  5. I'm looking forward to tonight. Hopefully they'll kick lumps out of each other.
  6. Come on Anna! You can say it now.
  7. Shame they don't have right eye wink one too!
  8. And his 24 goals in the league this season.....

  11. I don't doubt it at all. It'll be all our fault of course.
  12. And don't forget the four Typhoons with them!

  14. Alright! There's two: Newcastle and Fulchester.
  15. "Still only one United." Fulchester? Newcastle Piers! Keep up.
  16. What ever. Still only one United.
  17. I'd be interested. Useless trivia is my specialty.
  18. There's only one united Atila, you know that!
  19. Anna, can I have them when United get to the final?
  20. OMG not the reintroduction of the retractable bollard. Didn't they spend millions on these things on Rye Lane then they stopped working within hours? As far as the comments go about reducing street signage there was a Radio 4 programme about it last year. I think they experimented in Norway and the Mayor of the town who introduced the idea took the journo out in a car, stopped in the middle of the high street, got out and proceeded to walk backwards into oncoming traffic to show how saftey had improved.
  21. What a wonderful weekend. The winker strikes again AND Rooney gets a couple!. Delightful.
  22. Basically, yes.

Rio's good enough for United on occasion, should be good enough for England.

I have supported Man United ever since I was a small boy. My father (81) has supported united all his life. I have pictures of myself as a young lad in Man united kit (the 70's when we were shit). I am a member of United and have been for about 15 years. I go to Old Trafford as often as I can (last time was when we lost to Coventry in the Carling Cup). How often do you get to Anfield? Oh, and despite the fact that I obvioulsy can't be a true United fan, Liverpool still aren't going to win the league this year.

We out played Liverpool end of. 3-0 doesn't lie and a goal up by the time Masher was sent off. And the title is far from over but I can say with great satisfsfaction, a big grin and a warm sense of well being that Liverpool won't win the league AGAIN this season.
