  1. I live round the corner and pop in from time to time. I've never been in the backroom for pool or a music/comedy night but I hear they can be good. I don't mind it in there and they stick the football on. It's a community boozer really lots of locals and pretty friendly.
  2. Possibly the most predicatable pre-competition story? It's all about the balls. Edited for speeling

I've been down a few times in the last few seasons to see them and Fisher. Great fun and Guiness with a view of the pitch. Don't forget the bloke who selld CD's as well.

  5. I think we'll be ok without him. As you say we can get a couple more players in for that money. As for getting riled, this is Fergie you're talking about, he loves a bit of rile...it's what gets him out of bed in the morning. :)-D Not sure about the team player thing. Liverpool seem to have forgiven Gerrard after his head was turned by Chelsea.

We had people like Owen Hargreaves and Wayne Rooney down as long term targets. We waited for Hargreaves and his club to be ready (through his injury too). I'm also not sure it's not what Liverpool get up to either but it's just not as well publicised. I too struggle to see how anyone can call Real Madrid the best club in the world. I'd even put Liverpool before them as they've had more success in recent years.
  7. Tbh AtG I agree and have just been saying so to some fellow United fans. We found him and helped him to become a great player, we've done it before and we'll do it again.

  9. Well, he's given the interview according to The Grauniad: Here. Anna, I wouldn't expect anything less.....
  10. Looks like Ronaldo is on his way. At least AtG will be please. ;-)
  11. After having completed my first triathlon since about 1989 at the weekend I got to thinking...are there any other triathletes on the forum? Anyone a member of a local club?
  12. Well done Donny. Really sad about Leeds (not)! ::o
  13. He was a tiddler not 12. From Wikipedia: T?vez has a distinctive burn mark from his right ear, down his neck to his chest. This occurred when he was ten months old while he was exploring his mother?s kitchen floor and he inadvertently pulled a kettle of boiling water over himself. This caused third-degree burns to the right side of his face, neck and chest and left him in intensive care for almost two months. Today, the scars are a highly visible feature of T?vez, who did not get them fixed because he was playing in a junior football team. He refused an offer from his then club, Boca Juniors, to have them cosmetically improved, saying that the scars were a part of who he was in the past and who he is today.
  14. There's a video here: Spit or snot or not? You decide. Looks pretty inconclusive to me but I'd like to think he did so that people's opinions of him drop.
  15. Well said STB! And Ratty I hope you have to wait another 70 years for a cup win. ;-)
  16. Ugh. How many more of you are going to say you feel sorry for Terry? Well, I enjoyed it and managed to root for United all the way through instead of my usual plastic habit of changing sides when I think another team will win. As for Chelsea deserving it on the night how do you work that out? I thought it was pretty well balanced tbh. The Ronaldo penalty IS either against the rules or at least ungentlemanly conduct. Even the United fans don't like him doing it but still, as The Beatles never sang Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Man Utd European Champions!
  17. Get over yourself Alan. The Locale thread is suprising balanced if you ask me. Just don't read restaurant threads if the way people write annoys you after all we can't all be A A Gill (or would want to be!). And I love Si Mangia *blows raspberry*.

Me too. And thanks ???? I hope that your team continue to lose! ;-)

Ahem... Mobile phone ad and what about all the ads with the boy becoming a footballer except he's actually not doing an overhead kick but he's being hit by a car or the young girl who is going to become a prima ballerina but actually she too is being hit by a car. I guess that it's not aimed at your age group ancient Roman! ;-)

  21. Ouch Anna! I can't afford it. I have a new baby to pay for (not like I bought her but you know). I suspect it will be a bit drudgy tbh but it can't be as bad as that FA cup final.

(6) Try riding a bike behind these numptys.
  23. I'd just like to say, in my own plastic and glory hunting way, I am a little bit excited. I'll just trot off to Surrey now to support Manchester Albion.
  24. Yes, but why is it in the entrance to the cinema? Noone seems to be able to answer that and I work in the film dept.
  25. Yes thanks. You?
