  1. "don't open your door at any time to people you don't know" a little bit OTT.
  2. There's very little point in complaining to Royal Mail about delivery problems. Delivery office managers are useless. There is a 'command and ignore' culture. They tell the postmen and women what to do but never really enforce anything. As a customer, if you get a good postman you're in luck, if not, tough.

    Scooter dog

    Funny 'til the emergency stop.
  4. "And if people have too many in their garden and want rid of them how is that different from having a mice or rat infestation?" Because poisoning them is illegal (unlike for rats and mice). As are most traps (ditto). The only legal traps are free running snares which are probably not permitted in urban areas. In addition, what would you do with the fox after you've caught it in this trap?
  5. "Something about feeding the troll." Yeah, sorry. I don't usually get into arguments on the internet. I wasn't even that bored. But I'm definitely going to bed now though.
  6. "your seriously not comparing a family pet to a fox are you???" No, I'm making the point that it's probably prohibited to dispose of a dead dog or fox in your household rubbish. "With an answer like that, I can only assume that you seem to think foxes are cute 'pet' like creatures.... ?" Well, you're wrong, I don't.
  7. Would you put your dead dog in the bin?
  8. "In a bin!" You can't put a fox carcass in with your household rubbish. You'll have to dump it outside on the road and hope no-one sees you (and if someone does, tell them you ran over it). You see, I'm trying to help you now.
  9. "There are no predators in the foxes food chain...." Er, humans?
  10. I take it you're being serious (irony sometimes doesn't work on the internet). Where would you dump the carcass, just wondering?
  11. "You just answer my questions with questions??" No I don't. "Or just state legal facts....." Well, it's a pretty good place to start. "Do you never question the law?" Yes. But not in relation to this. What do you really think besides hiding behind what the law says?" I think the law in relation to this matter is perfectly reasonable and correct. And btw if you woke up tomorrow morning to a fox caught in one of your traps what would you do with it?
  12. "What is the difference between a fox and a rat?" Fox not legal to kill. Rat legal to kill. "why should there be any difference?" Because the law states that there is a difference. And we all have to abide by the law. "And how would they do that?" I would just repeat that it's probably not a good idea to boast about engaging in illegal activities in public. If I was doing something illegal I wouldn't really announce it to the East Dulwich Forum.
  13. "Why don't you go and report Rentokil to the RCPCA?" Because Rentokil do not poison or snare foxes. Because it's illegal. "i am fully aware of its illegality." So you shouldn't be surprised if someone, having read your post, decides to report you to the relevant authorities.
  14. "Someone has to do something about this problem. Where will it stop?" Obviously fox world domination. Or at least East Dulwich. "i have set up some carefully positioned poisoned bait and snares around their main routes into and out of our garden." And what do you plan to do with them when you've snared them? Smash their heads in? And more to the point: "The Wild Mammal (Protection) Act 1996 protects most mammals from a variety of cruel acts which are intended to cause unnecessary suffering. When a fox has been captured the Protection of Animals Act 1911 can also be used to prosecute those people who ill treat the fox. Poison: There is no poison that can be legally used on foxes. Use of a poison to kill foxes would lead to either a large fine or imprisonment. Gassing: Again the use of any gas to kill foxes is illegal. Spring Traps: Can not be used against foxes and traps with teeth have been illegal in this country since 1954 for all animals. Free Running Snare: May be legally used to catch foxes but is subject to many restrictions. In urban areas its doubtful that these restrictions can be met. Self tightening Snare: Is illegal" I would advise you not to boast about your own illegal fox eradication programme on a widely-read messageboard.

  16. Isn't junk mail delivered by Royal Mail? Or by leaflet deliverers on behalf of the company? eg. pizza menus. I wouldn't lay the blame on the shop itself.

  18. "Is the 484 the worst bus service in London?" Probably not.
  19. I do find it quite amusing that 'silverfox' is claiming more knowledge and understanding of theoretical physics than Prof Hawking. Maybe 'silverfox' is a theoretical physicist. Then I would look silly.
