  2. It will be interesting to see whether it has any impact though.... http://www.chatr.org.uk/index.php/heathrow-s-hurdles/pollution/106-heathrow-pollution-killing-me-softly At least we won't have to pay the EU fine for breaching air pollution levels any more

The last line says everything about what is wrong with the UK today...STILL!
  4. I drive that way to get to Ruskin Park...oh well through the village both ways if it happens. Did I see a massive house in that road festooned with Labour paraphenalia at the last election? Just a thought!
  5. diable rouge Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > robbin shitstirring as usual, troll off to another > thread... How is that 'shitstirring' or 'trolling'....after all Democracy Is Democracy and the EU ain't that. As far as the economy goes the EU have undermined our manufacturing, fishing , farming etc etc since day 1....anyway who needs the Somerset variety of strawberries 52/24/7 grown under polythene in Spain?
  6. Geoffrey from Rainbow (zippy and bungle....not the other one) RIP
  7. has anyone seen any RM delivery today?
  8. Virgin Price increase of ?4 a month looming and that is on top of 3 days this week with intermittent service on the internet and wiFi... I have friends in an area of Berkshire where there is massive house building going on and their VM service is worse than ours and getting poorer by the day- I guess as the new properties get connected- it is unacceptable- but it is telling that it is almost impossible to communicate with them. My friends too are in the process of breaking free of VM..
  9. I hope they are working and delivering today....
  10. The Southwark News article says that ...the enquiry office could move to the Lordship Lane Post Office...he obviously has NO idea what the LL P.O. is like..
  11. I was assured a parcel was arriving at my house by Thursday at the latest so someone has been IN for 3 days just in case it came- NO SIGN of it despite seeing 3 red vans parked up at one time or another today and a bewildered looking postman who I have never seen before trying to find a house (even though they are all numbered!) I was thinking about the logistics of just adding the whole catchment area of Sylvester Road, and given the wealth of the people in the neighbourhood who will spend a lot online- they have bitten off more than they can chew, that's for sure!
  12. The Full Harvest Moon was on 25th September this year....look out for the October Hunter's Moon October 24th
  13. Interesting responses- especially the one that said the cat brought the mouse in! (Some cats like to bring you a present- e.g. a half dead bird or rodent https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/housekeeping/618038-would-a-cat-really-help-to-get-rid-of-mice

  16. This house has been in a state for at least 2 years- the front bay windows have black plastic over them now- no doubt to hide the fact that the ceiling inside is hanging down

'X' that must be Xavier...sorry- gallows humour has kicked in since I phoned the Royal mail last week to complain and I was told that things would improve the next day....

Our postal deliveries were excellent all summer- it has just been the last couple of weeks where they have been atrocious and I had to formally complain

No surprise there- it is well known that Labour councils use front line services as a political football when there is a Tory government- I dread to think what is going on in Education after the last time the Tories were in- no-wonder schools become academies
  21. hopefully it will offset the extra pollution from people illegally burning logs....
  22. 'No doubt their drivers are under pressure to make their deliveries on time and do this because the entrance is often blocked by vehicles from the car wash and badly parked cars.' We shall complain about the car wash and the badly parked cars....
  23. https://www.thedulwichestate.org.uk/property-on-the-estate/residential-freehold/applications-for-building-works It seems all perfectly clear- it's a great pity that East Dulwich has been allowed to degenerate into the eyesore it has due to ridiculous planning approvals

  25. someone told me that the EU had a hand in the privatisation of Royal Mail- something about EU competition rules and the state cannot subsidise the 'industry'
