Scumbag playing loud music on Worlingham road

Yes there are rules about the hours and any dust should be contained. Also there are rules about excessive noise. They certainly are not supposed to work before 8am on weekdays and 9am on Saturdays or past 6pm on weekdays and 2pm on Saturdays- NO work Sundays and Bank Holidays. Also if you complain then the Council want YOUR name and address...in the past builders were told the complainant's details- hopefully they do not do that now! -

I had to interview someone once and she was accompanied by a woman in a burka.....the experience left me believing it should definitely be banned...and they were referred to as letterboxes YEARS before Boris used it...

GBH/ABH when do the police/authorities take action?
uncleglen replied to malumbu's topic in The Lounge
The 'bit of violence' was often carried out by the cops themselves back in the mists of my time....acted as a deterrent to many would-be crims.... -
Plague of Litter (what can we do about it?)
uncleglen replied to Habitualbridesmaid's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I worked in a Lewisham school some years ago and had to constantly challenge students to use bins. When asked what their excuse was for throwing litter on the floor (both inside and outside the buildings) was that 'it creates jobs for the cleaners'..... -

If you read the entire post , it is obvious that both the grammar and spelling are a bit iffy. Weyward? Omnusbund? There is a scheme in the borough of Islington where working people can rent council flats in 'rough' blocks. The idea is that the working people set an example to the others. Maybe Southwark are placing council tenants in the wonderfully civilised streets of East Dulwich to try and 'tame' them? I have a very similar problem in my street with owner-occupiers who constantly scream at each other....I almost called the police yesterday... -
Rogue moped riders operating in this area

No amount of police will stop this - the thugs target London...although the drug dealers are spreading out more. The hotspots appear to be backstreets where the thugs know there are no cops. It doesn't help that when some are caught they are let out on bail...never to be seen again -

People with toddlers do get on buses- BUT they don't have to fold up the pushchairs.....things were worse for young parents (probably why lots of them stopped breeding altogether) and the disabled in 'our' day you cannot deny that otherwise you are admitting that we have not moved on. -
His early ventures into the public spotlight was relating the activities of muslims in Luton....his own personal experience and TRUE events in his own neighbourhood. The muslim who exposed a grooming gang was best placed to do what he did because the only reason these and other nefarious activities go on is because the 'communities' are self-contained and protectionist and this goes for Saville, Catholic Institutions etc as well. So Nazir Afzal got the conviction in 2014 was it(?) What about Sara Rowbotham MP who tried to alert authorities in 2005....how come Nazir Afzam didn't pick up on it back then?

He/she is just trying to shut down any kind of balanced discussion. I'm surprised that the OP was not accused of lying because there are certain TRUE things that happen in this world that rh does not believe really happen since they are not in his/her realms of experience. (I'm surprised that rh hasn't started a thread on the Corbin anti-semitism row....but then again.....)

Of course they don't give a fig for the environment because they don't actually live in it for long....I blame the people who enable them to persist in the illegal tipping.

these spaces should be on the far side of the car park as far as I'm concerned. When you are breeding you are at your most fit. Those of us in our 50s and 60s have NO sympathy because we had to get on a bus after having to fold up the push chair with a baby under one arm and shopping as well -

Local councillors who never respond
uncleglen replied to Lee Scoresby's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There is a lot of difference between local government and Central government. Unfortunately when they are opposing parties (as now) they tend to use the public services as a political football - they get the money from central government but they can use it exactly how and when they like- because you voted for them- and then they blame stuff on 'government cutbacks'. -
I think there is a box in the exit to sainsbury's DKH- at least theer used to be. For info the Bell Green Sainsbury's still has recycling facilities including small electrical cardboard etc

I would've thought that being a councillor might be the start of a full-time political career for some people. The allowance is very generous compared with some councils....especially as it seems to be quite a lot of money for nothing in some cases. As people have said- James was always very helpful and quick off the mark. -
