  1. If you have builders IN then they are supposed to follow the Southwark rules 0800-1800 Monday to Friday 0800-1330 Saturday NOTHING on Sundays or Bank Holidays. However- if the owner-occupier is DIY-ing then it is a matter of consideration and as said before there will be clauses in a tenancy agreement

The government gives money to the local council but the local council are free to spend the money on whatever you voted for...many Labour councils will withhold money from the front line services and spend more on admin at the Town Hall....YOU have given them carte blanche to do this and do it they will- with impunity if central Government is Tory...so suck it up for another 4 years.

I had only EVER used the card twice and I knew exactly when and where I had used it and I passed the information on.

(not that I'm going myself- just have experience of this type of thing)
  5. Most people seem to drive 'cars' slightly smaller than a Hummer these days....the roads around here are very narrow especially due to extra parked cars from commuters and the blocks of flats going up and house conversions that are going on necessitating a skip in the road every 200 yards- the place is a joke

Yes- especially the 'bleeding' ones and the price..... Still I'm suspicious of ALL takeaways since I was ill for 3 days after my first kebab! (yes- and it was from ED)
  7. there will be no planes over Windsor for 15 minutes today
  8. All the ostentation makes me sick- especially since it is at OUR expense. I feel sorry for all the young couples out there who can't even afford to have a small wedding because of the expense and they are having their noses well and truly rubbed in it. And coming on top of the 3rd baby to the other pair, and she says she will not rule out a fourth- again- there are couples out there who cannot afford ONE child let alone 3 or 4!
  9. I hope your varnish is as environmentally friendly as the virgin rocks!
  10. There would be a positive correlation between increase in number of residents and increase in number of food outlets/ restaurants....I see there is going to be a M and S Simply Food opening up on the new development next to ED station as depicted on their hoarding. Given that every house sized plot is being turned into umpteen rabbit hutches then this is to be expected.

Manners- I have had enough dealings with the Labour party to know that they themselves have none - have you never been to a council meeting?- if you had you will know that whatever is going on the Labour lot toe the party line regardless- AND they ONLY care about your vote....I am proud to say that I have NEVER voted Labour despite coming from the East End and from an immigrant family....

  14. Eggheads (but I don't like Jeremy Vine) University Challenge (partly to gauge the state of intellect of the youth of today) Countdown (does it count as a quiz?) Now that I can pause it and not listen to the irritating 30 second 'music' it is most enjoyable...some of the guests are interesting-Chris Packham was brilliant, and Adrian Chiles is on at the moment (who would have guessed he has a fetish for descaling kitchen equipment!)

Yes unfortunately there are some areas where you could put a red rosette on a donkey and it would get elected -as my son keeps reminding me!

  18. I am personally glad of it because all those unsolicited pieces of email I get will disappear

  20. Parakeets can survive the Himalayas so a British winter won't deter them. Generally they are deemed a pest and if you have a licence you are allowed to kill them https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/jul/01/parakeet-cull-british-farms-birds-vineyards-research-uk

Didn't. Google 'brainstorm insensitive' and you will find umpteen examples- I picked the one I linked because it was from that odious of rags that you love so much....we WERE instructed not to use the word- I don't care what you say or think rh (feeling of deja vu now) and i'm sure there is an adjective that describes YOUR kind - I've probably used it myself

Well you can hope as much as you like but it will get you nowhere- I've been to a few council meetings over the years and Labour are the worst kind of politicians- they have not got an altruistic bone between them- they are ONLY after votes and furthering their own careers...and as for doing anything for the WORKING classes- dream on
