Weather experts - are you thinking snow in the coming week ?

Yes- I came across a childhood diary and on 5th April 1963 I wrote 'it is snowing just as the Americans said it would'. I was in London at the time. That was, of course, the end of the worst winter of my lifetime- so far. -

Went to the P.O. via North Cross Road. An Adams Catering etc Lorry was parked on the corner outside the Palmerston with its engine running. I went to the P.O. and queued up as you do and then went to M and S and bought a couple of things. Went home the same way and the lorry was STILL idling. I know it's cold but..... -

And add to the traffic pollution the increase in the burning of non-smokeless fuel around this area which is very noticeable- anyway at least they will not be able to fine us when we have left the EU -
Trans Siberian Express - have you taken it recently?

You should be well prepared given the weather forecast for London for the next 2 weeks! -

As the OP said in the last post London regularly breaches the air pollution limits...AND we are regularly FINED by the EU for this...I would guess that many EU lorries that come here are polluting and good look with tracking them down and fining them...not to mention the VW emissions scandal. -

About time https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/our-region/edinburgh/rbs-announce-first-profit-in-10-years-1-4695057 the only reason it was rescued was because Alistair Darling rescued Northern Rock...because his own investments were there -or so I was led to believe- so he HAD to rescue RBS. (and it is in Scotland after all!!)

My relative's boyfriend had had a few and he stayed at our house. In the night he obviously forgot where he was and went into a bedroom and pee'd all over my sister's clothes....He was made to wash them all by hand...

Why is it that someone ALWAYS has to hijack the thread, ANY thread, and use it to attack ANY politician to the right of Jeremy Corbyn- eh? JohnL

Having lived in the area for 37 years I can testify that the more and more people that have come to live here the less and less manners and consideration there are/is. Many people seem to have developed kind of 'entitlement' and it is ridiculous...unless it is the TYPE of people that ED has attracted.

Yes- helium is inert and is used extensively in medicine as it says- I remember one morning going into our (NHS) lab and someone had left the helium canister on all night and it was empty- the head of lab went mental because it is expensive for a start and vital for analysis

Discussion- with rude people making personal insults just like last year when Brexit was accomplished- why should I waste my time. This just proves your predictability. If the WTD is so great why are there so many French people working in the UK then?- So that THEY themselves can work when THEY want. I heard a youngster boasting about how he had notched up 75 hours of work and now can afford to get something he wants. I myself worked 2 jobs when I was single after all- why sit and drink in the pub when you can work behind the bar? The only reason wages are low is because we are IN the EU and the europeans here are keeping the wages low- whilst they dispatch ALL the money they earn OUT of the UK -

A lot of students stayed every day until about 5.30pm. Some were compelled to stay if they were failing at core subjects and not doing Homework for example. -
Shame- if Black Sabbath, Saxon, Lamb of God, Slayer or any of those other brilliant heavy metal bands that have been going for at least 25 years were playing I would go...but their members are all over 45 years mainly.....

Contractor asking for daily rate for only 7 hrs work a day ?
uncleglen replied to helew's topic in The Lounge
I think 35 hours is an average working week of 5 days - (in France 35 hours is the legal working week). If you work 8 hours a day and have 1 hour off at lunchtime unpaid then that would be the 35 hours -
Oh the irony. Your precious cats are major hunters in the world.....seems only fair that they should get some of their own medicine!
