  1. Same in Ruskin park- there is a massive field for dogs but the selfish still let their dogs run free around the lake and flower gardens
  2. Here are some more http://www.countryliving.co.uk/homes-interiors/news/a2270/burglars-code-signs-break-in/ Also we noticed some small screwdriver type scratches and notches around our key hole on the front door- and it has been reported that sometimes the burglars will hang around at certain times of the day to see who is leaving houses....the only time we nearly got burgled was at school run in the afternoon when they broke the window glass but must have been disturbed

I think you are in the wrong section- but anyway- if you apply to a 'faith' school and put Atheism' in the section asking about faith you must be extremely honest and should therefore get a place automatically imho

You are right about the yellow lines- they certainly do not help pedestrians as I walk around these streets frequently and cannot see what is coming any better. I can only think that they are helping the explosion of building related vehicles turn right and left. The level of 'expertise' who planned, voted on etc is purely rooted in spending the allocated money before April, and politics- AND as a person with various relatives in the construction industry I can tell you that there is massive fraudulent activity...let's not forget who voted for this particular ruling Council either- and it was not me (I've been around here for too long, have met too many people with stories to tell, and I've attended council meetings and I'm appalled
  5. Bears- in the holy land- mmmhhh
  6. We had a mirror above the kitchen sink when I was young- my dad used to shave in it every morning- you can't beat boiling water from the kettle!
  7. 'Lottery'- and who will be overseeing that it is FAIR....what was wrong with the old LEA system 25% band one, 50% band 2, 25% band 3- on a proximity basis- this is a recipe for sink schools imo- unless their lottery is truly random
  8. Upgrading things means creating supply lines for the umpteen new dwellings the council has sanctioned.....surely digging up the road ONCE would be enough- but I suppose if they had a brain cell between them they would have a better job!
  9. In Goodrich road between the Castle and Landells there are 3 wheelie bins in the road, well spaced out, then a skip- selfish and wrong. I have learned from speaking to builders in the past that there will be repercussions. Council employees are out and about all the time THEY should do something. We ALL pay road tax so that WE can use the roads to park our cars... A person has to be almost crippled to get a disabled bay but some people are not as mobile as others and should not have to park 3 streets away- and, of course- the selfish behaviour is contagious.

  11. A skip was in the road and two wheelie bins in the road next to the skip...I guess the builders want a space for their van or whatever- it's getting pretty tedious...
  12. even worse is the common practice of leaving expired goods on the shelves like the newsagent in CPRd
  13. unfortunately the council HAS to spend its roadworks allocation before the end of the financial year....the motto in the public sector is 'use it, or lose it'.....there will never be any joined up thinking because you are talking about politicians here and they are not really known for their common sense!
  14. They have grit they buy it in every winter- and there is a dept of transport emergency stock so there is NO excuse. Well... except for trotting out the lies about 'tory cuts' yet again
  15. It's a front line service affecting the voter directly so of course they will not grit- they will blame it on the current government- because they think that WE don't know it is THEIR responsibility...
  16. some boys (in their own school uniform) knocked on mine once for the British Heart foundation- they had a tin. I phoned their school- it was all lies
  17. All your questions answered https://www.local.gov.uk/your-winter-weather-questions-answered-0 but given Southwark's penchant for neglecting front-line services when the Tories are in power- that is probably the real reason for no grit....'government cut-backs' as they quote with monotonous regularity.
  18. I've always found the jet stream forecasts accurate- this time is no exception
  19. yes- March Winds, April Showers- but frozen!
  20. The NSPCC are around knocking for charity. They said there has been a rise in child abuse in this area....
