  1. Lovely freshly squeezed Oragne Juice at mon petit chou, plus they are introducing crepes and breakfasts there.Chandelier, tea rooms which are opening on the 15th of this month will also have juices, and i hear somewhere on northcross road have already started selling juices. Icelands are good, they sell foods that come in handy if you are looking for something on the go,or if you go in not knowing what you want icelands do have the answer, very impressed with them.
  2. I actually had a charge of criminal intent brought against a traffic wardens years ago. When i had a business in peckham, one day a traffic warden came in for lunch sat down, ordered his food, then a another customer pulled up outside came in and ordered a take away,in the meantime the warden went out and issued a ticket whilst his food was getting cold,i told the customer who then quickly went off with no ticket on his windscreen(another debate)circled round and picked his food up from my waiting hands out by the road. The tarffic warden took his lunch and threw it at me,told me that the ticket had gone through, regardless of it being on the windscreen.I looked at the lunch on the floor and called the police. He was arrested, charged and suspended from his job,all for ?40.00 and no he did not even pay for the food...
  3. mmm i think i know what you meanB)
  4. I have already spoken to some of the mentioned retailers and as they said, they are open long hours already, plus most are open on sunday,so good luck but i cant see this happening.
  5. lol quaywe i know its crazy but its true.
  6. My husbands building firm is based on choumert road and for the last few weeks my darling and his workmates have had the pleasure of being eyeballed by the police who stand guard over our home secretary. They think its because they are all from belfast,i think its because they need to wash their faces of a morning and at least be a bit presentable while they stand and drink their tea on her doorstep.I personall feel sorry for my hubby he looks the most suspicious with his loud belfast accent, big boots, scar and tattoos >:D
  7. Thought it was supposed to be a shoe shop, must have fallen through
  8. Thats all very well edkiwi but allotment owners are bound by their contracts, which states they cannot sell from the allotment,if they can do it and get it away with it,then good luck.Allotments have managers who funnily enough use local markets to buy from themselves, and i heard a story that someone was selling their produce at bootfairs, who got caught and lost the allotment.Serious stuff
  9. The general ethos is that allotments cannot be used for commercial or financial gain,i know this because i have had this discussion with allotment owners who give their produce away or trade it for other produce
  10. e dealer i think you mean peppercorns in selhurst not crystal palace, nearest station is selhurst, heard nice things about it.
  11. Tango south london is at the thomas more hall on mondays, its argentine tango, taught by clare and its a great class, shes a very patient teacher as well, great for toning the calves;-)
  12. Im off to brazil soon,so if i get a mo in my tight schedule of beach, bar and books, then i may post from there.
  13. We see buses racing down Lordship, lane most days and i have to say its alarming,i mean they are only rushing into traffic and a pile up of buses along the lane. They need to slow down, because someone will get hurt.I heard of a campaign to put traffic lights by somerfield or a 30mph in that part, but nothing has been said since.
  14. no-cars i think you mean lesley sharp who was in from hell, unless we have 2 actresses from that 1 same film.Jenny eclair is very nice,iv known her for years,a friend of mine worked for her and they still have a great friendship. As for the other 1 from brookside,is she classed more as an extra these days.
  15. Thanks nero, however i am not that naive to assume everyone else is as passionate as the majority of us already are.People learn from others and i see it everyday so i will always be optimistic and frustrated, but again thanks
  16. Thanks mark,i know it will be impossible to become plastic bag free completely, but we can try to play our part and take responsibility for what is happening to the planet,we live here after all,so we are all accountable.Sorry if i come across strongly but i am very passionate about this, and i do get frustrated towards certain attitudes.
  17. There are no towns in london at the moment, but i know there are a few who want to become plastic bag free.
  18. East Dulwich are working towards being the first town who will be plastic bag free in london, all it takes a little effort on everyones part.Charlie has lots of valid points and hopefully one day we can all say that we did our bit and helped our planet,as it is everyones responsibility to look after the planet for future generations.
  19. We received a lot of signatures on the SNUB petitions today, they will be around lordship lane if anyone wanted to sign. A lady came in the shop today and she asked me for a new plastic bag in which my reply was that from the next couple of weeks,we are going to reduce plastic bag usage,so our new shop bags will no longer be available,to which she replied thats all very well but she wants a clean brand new bag!!!I said its not about the bag its about looking after our planet and she just rolled her eyes up to the ceiling. There will always be 1 lol:-S
  20. Great idea we are looking at alternatives, but this is another option we are looking at
  21. S.N.U.B Say No to Unwanted Bags Do you really need a plastic bag? Many of the retailers on Lordship lane, with the support of Southwark council and local residents, are working towards a goal of hopefully reducing plastic bag usage in East Dulwich. Many of the residents are already proactive, by taking their own bags when shopping. As a retailer I always ask the customer do they need a bag and the majority say no. However there are retailers In East Dulwich who give bags out automatically. Next time you are in a shop and the retailer gives you a bag without asking please ask yourself if you really need that bag and saying no. By doing this one thing you are reducing your carbon footprint, it may seem like a drop in the ocean, but added up all these little drops in the ocean will help save marine and wild life. Please post your comments, negative or positive, all feedback gratefully received:)) (It has been requested that this thread be made an announcement and is has. The retailers are getting behind this scheme, the local Council are backing it and as you are now aware of it I trust you will act accordingly - The Administrator)
  22. lordship lane does get confused with east dulwich road, many a times we have received post for east dulwich road, and when people come into Ed they always ask the LL natives about places on Ed road tinking they are on Ed road????Although LL is not that clearly marked from either the goose green end or the harvester end
  23. Linda is very nice we spoke earlier, she also has a lovely family
  24. Dom excuse me but do i know you?If so then you could make that assumption, but i dont know who you are and i am slightly surprised you could remark on someone you have never met.tw.t
  25. Can we start a new one sorry Ed i tried to rhyme with your one. There was a young blonde on goose green..
