  1. James - I am not sure 2x guys on a moped not having been seen to actually commit an offence would warrant a police visit to SE22, I watched the guys for some time and though I'm convinced they were on the hunt I'm sure they could not be prosecuted for anything. Or are you asking because the police could have noted a record of the moped reg plates (which, next time, I'll try and note myself) ?
  2. Black moped, black helmets, black clothing. 'Patrolling' Silvester/Pellatt/Crystal Palace Rd around 0100-0130, clearly not on their way anywhere - just doubling-back and stopping near prospective targets, which would appear to be parked motorbikes and cars.
  3. I'd just make sure they're available for the binmen to wheel out of your front yard on collection day - that's (I think!) what they expect. You can put them back in their kennel later.
  4. Yeah it's shit getting someone blowing their shit in your face. Not sure what planet it's supposed to be OK to do that.
  5. yeah agreed as of 30mins ago !!
  6. thanks, somene coming down to see me who i've now told to go round the whole shabang.
  7. anyone know if this is still happening (delays / gas leak repairs) ?
  8. the longest sentence possible (which, in this case, won't be anywhere near 'life' [which never means life anyway]) obviously.
  9. the flats match the leisure centre (in the artist's impression, at least). Be interesting to see how long that patio set outside one of the ground floor flats would be there before getting half-inched !
  10. just-Browsing: "FOUND: Large ginger cat with white paws. new Posted by RegMorley April 30, 09:06AM Caught him crying outside our bathroom window around 8:30am this morning. Large ginger cat with white paws, pink pads & brown eyes, small white fleck under left side of his nose - very kind and sweet natured " Perhaps your cat ?
  11. Which (ex) building on CP Rd are we talking about.
  12. Yeah I get the legalese and understand why it's GBH. It's just that, when you stab someone in the head with a screwdriver, what is your intent ? Wounding ? Maybe best stab 'em in the shoulder then. Killing them ? OK, best go for the head. Let's hope the bloke pulls though OK and the attacker gets heaviest penalty possible.
  13. 'GBH' ??! I just knew it. Stab a guy in the head with a screwdriver and don't get charged for attempted murder.
  14. Use a rolling log mouse trap. https://youtu.be/6SIlYiiCGLI
  15. Maybe you mean the building that used to be next to the sports centre / pool ? (Though that didn't look Art Deco) The hairdressing suppliers demolished on CP Rd was certainly not Art Deco.
  16. what peckham_ryu said. I think a community message to the police / decision makers that there appears to now be a 'vacuum' locally where we're simply not covered by police. Perhaps it's a consequence of the ED police station closing, allowing muggers to roam around (often on mopeds) helping themselves to whatever people are carrying and inflicting injury to anyone that resists, also burglars knowing they've got a head-start on the police. The police are doing what they've been told to do with the resourc ethey have available. Demonstrating that the area needs better protection is surely the only way that anything is going to improve but unfortunately it'll take time and will need to be championed IMO from within the community.
  17. A couple of us were at the Bird, very good event and cheers for tip thepest.
  18. so what's the predictions on this anyway guys ?
  19. Not showing at Castle as too expensive apparently.
  20. good point actually Sue - I will pop up and ask and post here what they said.
  21. nice outcome
  22. same here - though I fear SE22 is no longer catered for in this department !
  23. If you're near Silvester Rd sorting office, perhaps pop in and ask them ? They should know where locals' Royal Mail parcels should be held I'd expect. Anerley would be a nightmare ! I hope this isn't a portent of how it's going to work when that sorting office closes.
  24. I think it's subjective comparing now to the 80s, there were definitely plenty knives then. People carried and football supporters still had Stanley knives. I'm sure a couple of years ago there were all these stats saying how significantly knife crime had fallen, I guess there'll be fluctuations constantly over time.
  25. "Council is giving an opportunity for dog lovers AND owners to have their say" Perhaps - but such a biased survey seems clear which way they want this to go.
