Surely any decent party has to be crazed, otherwise what a waste of time getting it on.

What red devil said. Also, the 'noise' of water splashing into the tank can be reduced with a small polythene sheet attached so the water runs down it, I think some cistern mechanisms have a kind of polythene flat tube thingy for the water to run down through - with same effect. ?5k is mental IMO.

BNG - it also props-up the existing ageist culture we have here in UK.

if you can get the structure up, without having to worry about finishes, cabinet sizes etc. you can concentrate on that first phase with less distractions. Obviously there may be some items you need to have decided in front ie. if you're having underfloor drainage, where roughly the waste entry points will be.

get a friend / neighbour to help you carry it.

I guess what I'm saying is I do as much as possible myself and only get tradesmen in for the remaining jobs, which I'm able to be specific about, therefore measure outcomes/finish and address as necessary.

Maybe that explains Virgin media being down..

For me, it's get the builders to put the structure up and make it weatherproof then run with it from there doing what bits you can yourself / bringing tradesmen in.

Brook wins !! Great win for him against one of the two feared WWs in the division (Thurman being the other, actually perhaps Maidana as well). I haven't watched the fight yet, but to win on points against a US champ in the USA is something. I just hope this doesn't mean Khan fighting Brooks, instead Brook could / should face Bradley, Provodnikov, Chris Algieri (who's fighting Pacman next), Maidana, Thurman. I've read complaints of Brook holding Porter as he came-in swinging, but that's down to the ref and Porter's corner can complain/appeal during the contest if they're that miffed about it. Apparently the two boxers' faces told the story at the end, Brook having used his jab effectively. ETA: Just watched the YT clip of the contest (search on "kell brook vs shawn porter full fight" for a Polish version, complete with 'RunDLL' errors blocking part of the screen). There was equivalent amount of holding, more so towards the end from Porter as he tired. It was basically the same format from start to finish, Porter like a milling machine jumping in with constant short hooks while Brook either caught him on the way in with straights and jabs or stayed-put to clinch and spoil Porter's work. Brook took a lot of rabbit punches to back of head from Porter and a lot of headbutts, as he threshed during clinches. All the slo-mo between rounds showed Porter geting caught as he jumped-in, not Porter landing - because he hardly landed by comparison. Fair win to Brook by 117-111, 116-112. Heaven knows what the even score from the third judge was about (well, we all know actually. Good win, having watched it now it seems the reason why Porter did Malignaggi in only 4 rounds was Paulie M. didn't have the power to keep Porter honest as he jumped-in, whereas Brook clearly did. Brook was the better boxer and it took something to own that beast Porter.

Yeah for sure - who's seriously gonna walk around in chinos and deck shoes ! (Apart from USA jocks) And what ARE dads of young 'uns 'supposed' to wear anyways ???

I usually say something like "excuse me, can I just get there for a sec"? Works for me. I try this too, but sometimes there is a very slow response and will NOT be denied my beer !

In that situation I just catch the eye of bar person and shout my order over the people who're stood there - sort of sharing the issue with them, followed by the awkward handing-over of pints, which I rope them into - unless they suddenly realise it'd be really great to just stand to one side.

So Fury/Chisora are now back on for Oct/Nov, with Fury saying he'll 'make Chisora pay' for postponing the contest. This Saturday Sheffield's Kell Brook finally gets his world title shot, after a sequence of injuries continually delayed his/Devon Alexander's ability to contest the belt. Meanwhile, Shawn Porter worked his way into contention, beating-up Alexander, making him Kell's opponent this weekend. Porter recently KO'd Pauli Malignaggi, who's usually got a strong defense and movement. Shawn Porter cut the ring off and dismantled Pauli round by round. I hope this was due to Pauli's slowing-down through age. Brook is a great boxer, with good power and excellent counterpunching, but he's never shared a ring with anyone near Shawn Porter's talent - Shawn and Keith Thurman surely are taking over the Welterweight division. Shawn is a beast, though he did struggle a bit with Julio Diaz (Khan ?). I hope Brook wins (if so it'll need to be a KO, as the fight's in Vegas), but if forced to bet my house it'd have to be on Porter by points. Meanwhile Deontay Wilder, somehow a #1 contender with one of the governing bodies having never fought a top 50 HW, fights a #103 ranked opponent.... WTF !

Yes Speedos. Now Al Forno, on FH (same people). -
"Cars which insist on overtaking at speed whilst I'm on my bike, only to slam on the breaks almost immediately in front of me because of a car coming the other way, or a speed bump. Crystal Palace Road is the worst for this. You'll often have the same car over take you 4-5 times at speed and very close only for you to cycle past it again 30 seconds later. Just slow down a little and keep to a more constant speed instead of buckarooing down the length of the street" It's not a road that's so easy to keep a consistent speed on, what with speed bumps, cars crossing at junctions, people crossing, car doors opening, narrowing of road due to irregular parking making passing on coming cars difficult, skips, other cars parking or turning, cyclists. It's about safety anyway, not trying to maintain a consistent speed.

There's plenty snorting going on down the Herne.

Excellent action this afternoon / evening. Loads of great battles as we're into the semis/finals. To not dig it is to be dead already.

"TGE is my local. It's within spitting distance. Great beers, sh!t food. Much improved version of the CPT though." I live less than spitting distance from TGE - dribbling distance in fact. Food not sh!t at all. There may be the odd questionable dish but generally it's ok. The staff are very friendly, gracious and typically quite bright. Haven't a favourite pub in ED, but if I blend TGE, The Castle, Franklins (depending on company) that's probably my combo fave.

Shame it's off - word was the winner may be in line for a world title challenge. I wonder what Fury will do - keep busy with fodder ? At least Golivkin v Geale is only a week later.

From three or four gardens away I doubt they can see this posted on your smartphone screen. Maybe best let them know by shouting over.
