  1. I'd say it's fine, but it's not me running alone in the dark. It'd be a real drag to exhaust yourself running over the hill only to be too weak to fend-off an attacker !
  2. why not make the number up, to get the ball rolling and get a request/order raised, then call Sky to change the no saying you made a mistake initially.
  3. India Club looks good BNG, I'll pop in there next week for a butcher's.
  4. Yeah Katsidis spanked Mitchell, yet Burns owned Katsidis. You can't always go by that measure, but in this case if was a good indicator.
  5. I thought Ricky Burns put on a tremendous showing against Kevin Mitchell on Saturday up in Glasgow (WBO Lightweight world title). At no point did he look troubled and I think he copped only a couple of solid shots, given the tear-up towards the end of Rd1 that's impressive. Not sure where Kevin goes from here, unless he goes to the USA. Nothing domestically here for him IMO and Europe is all sewn-up by the germans who automatically allocate the win if on points to whoever fight out of Deutschland. ricky should look to unify IF he can get the fights - he's relatively unknown and that will be the excuse used by the other champions avoiding him, even though he can fill the Glasgow SEC with 10,000+ crowd which is probably a lot more than the other Lightweight champs could muster (between them maybe). Ricky IMO needs to go to the States cos the yanks don't travel by default. I don't think Ricky needs a tune-up/water-treading fight, he's still fresh after Saturday's contest., just needs time to relax before next camp.
  6. It's whatever price you've agreed before you get in the cab.
  7. Oh dear, I never dreamt that 'the little people' used this forum. How unseemly.
  8. They're surely in the 'gadgets' category, people like their gadgets. Same with latest tv set-up, computer games, etc.
  9. For what I had it was ?8.05 and I couldn't quite finish it. If I'd had just curry and rice i think it would be like ?4-ish.
  10. Yeah the farm on corner of Silvester and CP was in the 2x flats, they jumped the electric mains to get free power. Everyone standing down wind of the blaze, with eyes like piss holes in the snow...
  11. More pics for those interested..
  12. I?m minded to say the Indian YMCA is a load of old crud so that there?s no huge influx of EDFers to the canteen, but I guess only one or two of you are actually going to really head up there, so here it is.. For me, it?s kitted out and has d?cor just like a canteen in an Indian University or similar facility, pure 70s-esque ? superb. Go past reception at the YMCA and into the canteen, you queue up through the middle of the dining hall to the serving counter where the dishes are laid out on shelves. Like someone said earlier, there?s a selection of mains and some side dishes you can select from, then the queue wraps round back up to the till, during which time you pass the OJ /water glasses/cutlery to collect on your tray. You say whether you want rice and/or chapati and the guy gives you that with your plate The mains today were basic curries, chicken, lamb, fish, mixed vegetable, they all come in bowls read to put on your tray. Also there was a ?special?, Chilli Chicken, which was another (hotter) chicken curry, a bit drier than the ?standard? version. The sides/add-ons available were popadoms, raita (with veg chopped into it), pickle, dhal, sambar, onion bhajis and a couple of others. There were 4 of us, seating was not an issue ? I?d thought it?d be tough getting a table but no problem at all. Tables have jugs of water on. I had chilli chicken, rice, chapati, popadom, pickle, raita, dhal, and tried others? lamb curry and vegetable curry. It was all splendid, I took on a fair old sweat with the chilli chicken, the standard curries were a little milder. The curries were well-flavoured, dhal was mild. All the food is not quite hot due to being sat in bowls, but certainly not cold - it's under those heat lamps. As mentioned earlier in this thread a couple of times, I can certify that it IS a decent hangover cure !! I?ll be there at least weekly from now on. Lunch FYI is 12-2pm They also do dinners 7-8.30pm Breakfast 7.30-9.15 am !! Oh ? there?s loads of Indians there. No Madras, Jalfrezi, Pasanda, Korma etc. in sight thank gawd.
  13. That's hilarious !! My Dad's a hovercraft pilot, I'll send that pic to him, ha ha !
  14. Yes me too BNG, in fact, as the cool ones say, "I'M 'AVIN IT !!"
  15. KK that's an outrageous suggestion - are you seriously implying that this aspect of the country's infrastructure leaves us wanting ???? PERISH the thought !!!
  16. It's technology, built and maintained by humans, so liable to glitches. There's no magic or guarantees available !
  17. ...which is why the bus apps cut it for me, you do something with the time before your bus arrives, knowing how long you've got.
  18. No !! Not me ! I'm just saying that blokes don't see wrinkles necessarily in a negative light. Just didn't have time to word it so tightly that I wouldn't cop some comments by return.. !
  19. You know what plenty guys think older (looking) women are hot. Though admittedly maybe not aged like 85+. Isn't the whole botox thing setting yourself up for a fall when the technology fails you ? Someone earlier mentions the NHS costs for repairs etc, this rings true for a cousin of mine who (aged 23 and absolutely gorgeous with lovely figure and personality too) had a boob job, this year she had to have them taken out because of the scare from the (French ?) implant manufacturer, NHS said they'd remove for free but would not replace the implants, so my cousin has to get her now retired parents to fork out of their life savings for the new implants and insertion procedure, like ?4000. Beware what you stick in your body !
  20. adamj85: "How flexible are the tickets in travelling into London terminals? Will I be able to travel to London Bridge from Denmark Hill with my monthly season ticket? i.e. I am assuming E.D to Peckham Rye and then Peckham Rye to Victoria via Denmark Hill is acceptable? " I would skp ED station and head over the hill to Denmark Hill station (buses are frequent form ED station/LL) and get the Victoria train from there. The 1-2 zone travelcard will be fine, I do itmyself frequently as well as ED to LB.
  21. Wow I feel like a real late-comer to this venue, how I never sussed it I don't know ! Indian eating-house is right up my street tho. As Jeremy suggested, I'll do a pseudo-review and share at weekend. I'm just hoping for basic Indian food sans curry house standards.
  22. the guy also posted about 'muggings' up by Plough Library, by a 'tall black guy' (I think).
  23. Just found out it's nearby where I am some days, so will take a posse there Friday. Cheers Red Devil. Thanks for the eloquent observation Dogger !
  24. I'm gonna check this out later in the week, anyone been there. It's near Warren St. I've convinced myself the food will be 'down home', not a la UK curry house. Any info appreciated. KK
