Earlier I was oing to add a similar comment like is it some man/macho thing, fave sauces are always spicy ?! I have a bottle of the hottet stuff on Earth but I'm scared to touch the bottle without scrubbing my hands vigorously afterwards ! It's an OK talking point but not at front of the jars in my larder, meanwhile I get through other jars at some pace, chief of which is currently the Burmese gear above. There is a curry, the Phal, which was only available in one curry house in my hometown, it was hotter than Vindaloo and this is where people would contest the who's hardest at curry-eating every year or so !

It's a swine. Play with it at all, then not wash your hands properly and scratch your eye, you know about it soon enough... The bloke with the stall at Goose Green said he'd researched the subject, travelled a bit in the process and reckoned he'd made the hottest sauce on Earth. Once you get into these realms of spiciness it's all about (reducing) the pain. Not a condiment to have sprung on you / involuntarily, on the contrary, it should come with a training course for H&S reasons !

Gotta try this Shito, sounds like it's a plain no-messing 'hot bastardos' chilli-based sauce. For mental hotness (or whatever the term is for super chilli heat grading), I think this one has a reputation, certainly one to mix in tiny amounts when making marinades etc and it will hurt you if you take it in same quantities you'd eat (say) mustard. I got it a couple of years ago at a stall at Goose Green fair, I immediately put it on some jerk chicken I'd just got from another stall and had an instant refresher lesson in how dangerous chillis can be !

The bamboo shoot pickle:

Photos please, I've never heard of either ! I'll try do a shot of the Burmese pickle itself so you can check it.

Khan is 25, he could lose for 2 years staight and still have time to come back. He hasn't gone anywhere anyway, Khan got KO'd by a punch that would have KO'd anyone at that weight, so he got caught and needs to rethink his approach a bit. He'll be back and currently it's unthinkable he won't hold a world title again. Hatton however is surely past the last chance saloon on a one-way pony to Slagheapsville, shedding 5 stone may not automatically guarantee him a win, but if the driver is money he may be happy just to keep safe and grind out a healthy exit form the next fights(s), taking a win if it comes.

Not just Daddies sauce or Lea & Perrins. Here's my current dalliance, found it a 'Masalamart' on the Charlton wholesale estate, SE7. It's a pickle sold in Burma made with bamboo shoots, seriously spicey, but flavoursome and crunchy. This is a copy (made in London) but it's a good copy, IMO as good as the real stuff. Isn't there something 'special' you keep in the larder as a treat ?

I heard from someone recently that Hatton's broke / needs cash. If that's the case and it's true he has slimmed-down (I've heard this a couple of times now), then I can't think what else is likely but a return to the ring. As far as thinking about who'd win Hatton v Khan, I don't even want to go there.. Thinking about it, Hatton could have not slimmed-down and take on Audley (and then Price) !!
-
two surprising potential match-ups in the making, the former more certain than the latter: 1. Audley Harrison v David Price 2. Khan v (Ricky) Hatton

3 1/2 stone OVER weight, El Pibe.

Get a blue can of Raid from Dulwich DIY, cost about ?2.50, hoover the entire carept area with vigour, the spray the bare patch and areas near it, then go out for a walk for 30 mins if you're worried about fumes. That should tell you whether you've nailed the moths or not.

If fitted in last 20 years or so there should be a bayonet fitting I think that enables you to disconnect the appliance / connect another appliance. If you have tenants I think the rules change because maybecyou're endangering others and neglecting your duty of care (by doing the job incorrectly / with no training).

One of the interesting features of IoP for me is that it seems free of concern about consequences that will follow. ?It's the urge that counts at the time and that urge is ardent.

I got challenged in the Forresters toilets by a guy, simply because "you DON'T come here often do you ?".. And once the barman said buy me a drink, I said no way, so he helped himself to a short and mixer and added it to my bill and gave change reflecting me buying him that drink. He was a a rough looking MoFo and I had no appetite for it that evening, wanting to play pool, so just said cheers.

Jah that puts my proposed races well in the shadows. Humbled.

No scaffolding necessary, small job to cap chimney - climb ladder place cap on chimney go down ladder and they'll fleece you ?100.

The best races for me were the mid-80's middle distance battles between (mainly) the UK athletes, Cram, Coe, Ovett and to an extent Peter Elliot. I'm talking 800m and 1500m. I think it was in summer 1985 Cram broke something like 5x World records in 6 weeks. The period I mention includes the '84 and '88 Olympics, in which although I cannot remember the specifics, the heats and finals were top drawer if you like that distance. I think during this period Carloz Lopez regained the World AAA Cross Country World title over (I think) 10,000m, he was 39 if I remember correctly.

The specification was "seal off a chimney or a fireplace", not to seal off AND provide ventilation. However, the solution I offered will provide a vent from chimney but seal room off, if you want a vent in room just drill holes through the board or fit a grill after cutting hole for it.
-
chimney is a spout on the roof. fireplace is the hole in the wallin a room where a fire goes. seal off chimney with a clay cap that has vent holes. seal fireplace with a piece of board cut to correct shape, glue it in with expanding foam then paint/tile to taste. or brcik it up and plaster/paint it.

Jah - yeah that's what I meant, Maxxi's description when he mentioned the 'the original' sounded like he/she was on about C&P.

Oh I wondered what Katie's ref to EAP was for. Didn't realise he'd done something on IoP, does that mean he invented the term or, at least, classified the behaviour ? I'd have thought the behaviour is as old as man, though. Someone mentioned farting on way out of a lift, I think IoP would be farting when you just got in..

Vodaphone were telling me the 'coverage' of 3 may look good on a map but often the signal cannot penetrate a building so indoors at work/home some users may not be able to get a decent signal so have you leave the building to speak. I think Vodaphone were feeding my lines, but I'd be interested to hear if other network users have a similar reception issue as per posters above - where indoors (or only part of indoors) there's an OK signal, but outside the building it's fine. I'm also watching 3 and started a similar thread a few weeks ago.
