  1. Maybe you can try one of the chippies which have seating - ie. the one on Northcross Rd ?
  2. Drivers should indicate all the time for everybody, whether they see other people/road users or not.
  3. kids are often scared of the dark, not necessarily a sign of further fear mentality. been the same for 1000's of years. Also: - kids picky with food - kids wet themselves - kids have tantrums - kids get shy around strangers sometimes - kids have a favourite toy/blanket they like to cuddle.
  4. yeah I was just telling the boy about this - I saw it mentioned on BBC site, we'll get up on roof (valley roof) with his sister and see what's up at about 0400 tomorrow.
  5. OK thanks journey made, and back. I considered bus, in fact I was on 176 anyway when I read Bic's response, so got off at ED station to catch train - I feared 176 delays nearer central London. Caught my train with 5 mins to spare -phew.
  6. I've seen the set-up but as a driver never knew that, cheers for the tip hopefully no-one will get hurt there.
  7. Love it: "No one coming in playing stupid little instruments." A thread on this Person's quotes couldn't hurt either ! I like his idea of a pub, but without the strippers.
  8. Great thanks Bic.
  9. Is it still possible to go from ED to Waterloo by train (via LB) or has Olympics affected /stopped that journey ? I'd heard something about restrictions at LB regarding being able to/not being able to board certain trains there..
  10. It still tears off in squares, albeit big ones, but no blockages. Thanks tho.
  11. The huge blue rolls of 'mechanics rag' available at Khan's for ?1.49 easily outlast a 6-pack of standard toilet roll. Though you do need to 'harden-up' a little to get used to it.
  12. Yes, George, took a bullet then chased the gunman out of the shop.
  13. "I shit the f*ckin IRA.." Classic Bob Hoskins.
  14. I did a similar commute to Banstead for almost a year until quite recently, the commute was a complicated and dangerous for moped from ED, IMO - in fact Gary Mason (HW boxer) was killed while on his bike just a few yards in front of where I was stuck in the traffic resulting from the accident. If you can get to a station you may save yourself a lot of grief.
  15. Why wouldn't someone point a gun at a woman ? Is that a privilege reserved only for men ? What's so exclusive about Southwark ? We have had a gun murder on Barry Road for Chrissakes.
  16. woooah hold on - slightly polarised here. Some people have a car which could be younger, more efficient, have better longevity, but they choose according to what they can afford (presumably), some people may drive the recommended type of car, but prefer to spend on the detail of how they keep their house/flat, if they can afford it. This Clapham shit is a little over the top, having sash windows made out of wood does not denote some kind of grandeur. Some people have flash cinema set-ups, gadgets all over the place, whatever - does that mean they are from Clapham too because they are blowing money, not even to try and look after their house. You know what, if you've earned the dough or want to take out a loan to pay for bloody windows, and some knob says they must be UPVC or it means you come from Clapham, surely you'd say, don't be stupid.
  17. There was some shouting earlier, somewhere along the street, but I think it's ceased now.
  18. guy a couple of doors along from me had his recycling bin ignored this morning. Only thing I can percieve as a reason is the cardboard boxes in it had not been squashed/flattened before he put them in the blue bin.
  19. You are odd, but not for the reasons you think.
