Outlay for Waitrose would be well over ?1m (purchase/ lease + fitting store and eqpt) and they would be looking for a return over a calculated period, i'd guess that ED is very 'viable', even in today's economic climate.

I'd be happy just to see Co-Op have decent fresh produce on their shelves after 1600. They are shooting themselves in the foot by not doing so, heavens know why they run it down to a mini-Ethiopia each day. People can't get produce on way home from work / want ready made meals to heat-up. Co-Op could do that. There used to be a late opening day didn't there ? Wasn't it Thursday ? Waitrose/M&S is just the next step to turning ED into a shite hole. I suppose it's predictable that it's part of the progression, just look at other areas that stepped through the same sequence. However, it'll be a real shame if the 'protectors' of ED eventually spoil it by supporting suggested shops. Better to improve what we ALREADY have locally me thinks via dialogue and demonstrating popular demand, then everyone wins surely.

exactly. we need to flaunt what we've got, and if that's commercial grade or high-THC grade cannabis, then so be it. we could also use the woody off-cuts for hemp-style products and maybe even start a kibbutz. source locally it could be easy on the environment.

well a market of local cannabis would be quite something. a couple of head shops down northcross rd and we're away. local cafe's would do a roaring trade too..

Each time i've dropped the mobile phone in the loo it's been fine after taking battery out and cover off and laying the phone on a dry folded flannel with open side facing upwards so that moisture / condensation can escape. It's worked for my Sony Ericsson and Samsung, but obvioulsy I may have have been just lucky. it also worked when I droppned my Samsung into a 10 litre tub of emulsion (disgusting pink colour), so I just put the phone in the bath when I had a bath and gave it a good scrub, after drying it worked fine and luckily was NOT stained pink.

Virgin Advised me this morning that it's now 10 Jan before I get a visit from a techie. Also the neighbour who I'm piggy-backing off has no Virgin BB now.. They've now offered ?20 credit. Doesn't really help solve the BB issue tho.

I started a thread on this before Xmas to see if anyone else local was suffering, my neighbour has helped me out allowing access via his router, the 'man' was meant to come today to fix it between 12-4, no show and no warning of no show. I already established a ?15 credit before Xmas so tell em to shove their ?10 and take ?15 or more. Now I'm waiting to hear of a new appointment day/time. Bizarrely NY neighbour is on Virgin too !

However when I went back to check after getting the letter, the sign did say clearly. My fault/assumption. Read the signs. However, I think that when NEW signs go up or they're CHANGED, the sections of the road affected should be sprayed in fluorescent day-glo pink paint (which remains for a month) to warn potential parkers and all passers by that there's money to be lost here if you don't adhere to the regs.
