  6. Just been told by Virgin that I'll have no broadband until engineer visit on Monday after Xmas - that is a drag. I'm next to CPT. Anyone else near here impacted same way ??
  7. Manjula recommended CANOLA oil for one of her recipes when questioned by a reader on which oil she uses. I went to Khan's (best shop in the solar system) and though they had my paneer, dill, teabags etc, but no Canola, so I got olive oil. For cooking indian food. Since then I have heard, invariably, that canola oil is healthy / unhealthy - so what's your take on it ? I'd also be interested in any recommendations for appropriate alternative oils to use for Indian cooking. FYI Manjula is a lady who shares her recipes / demonstrates cooking them on-line, she's great !! www.manjulaskitchen.com
  8. 'bespoke' sounds pricey and my funds right now are NOT unlimited !! mind you, i wonder sometimes whether an expensive pair of shoes would actually eventually pay off over time, when compared to say 3-4 pairs of cheaper shoes...
  9. A decent group of vigilantes sniffing out the muggers and thieves and dishing-out some 'back at ya' mugging. PS: Yeah no mens shoes around here, where DOES one get decent brogues ?
  10. What Seir said.
  11. Legalbeagle, when I was a kid they (what your kids have on their lip/up their hooter) had a name, they are called Slimey Droopers. We used to lean forward with noses over the ground and blow them out and in and see who could get the best Slimey Drooper. Best Slimey Drooper is recognised by the loudest, "UUuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrghhhh !!".
  12. My snot is so thick right now that when I blow my nose it's like emitting a big fat slug from each nostril.
  13. O729 ED to LB train was on time. I think 0734 was either gonna be late or cancelled.
  14. I think every train this morning from ED to LB has been cancelled since the 0851 train.

  18. you can film my hedge, it pisses everyone off, i should cut it so the people can get past on the pavement, but it's so cold outside I just can't bring myself to - or it rains and my shears would get messed up. it's a biggy.
  19. Sorry to hear about your loss/damage, a real bind. the chaps telling you 'don't worry the insurance will pay', tell them to do the job on condition you pay them when insurance pays you - seeing as they're so certain..

  21. you're a funny guy. my mate 'Kimberley' would take care of you big boy.
  22. Outstanding performance from Khan, the glass chin myth surely has now been put to bed. Very resilient and dominant performance against a stalking puncher. Round 10 was a shocker.
  23. The only boxing that may be shown in a pub is the domestic Frank Warren card which is PPV. Maybe CPT ? However I remember someone saying the pubs have to pay quite a lot to show PPVs, which CPT may not want to risk.
  24. BASMATI. - Get a pan and chuck basmati rice in it. - Pour in boiling water and cover rice by a couple of mm. - Medium heat to get water bubbling, then reduce to low-medium, to burn off/soak up water. - When water gone but some moisture in the pan turn down to lowest heat (great to have gas, rather than electric for this) and give a quite stir/turnover. keep on absolute lowest heat stirring / turning over every 5 mins. you need to check rice not burning to bottom of pan, when it is turn heat off. rice will continue to cook itself from its own heat. I leave it for like 20-30 for best result. I do this a 2-3 times a week, it works. My Pakistani cousin showed me(but I don't put in the spices she does, I like plain white rice, Khao Suway).
  25. East Dulwich is so open-minded and 'right on', as posters are always at such pains to demonstrate, that you will have absolutely no issues whichever venue you frequent in ED, you will find all venues welcoming and engaging and inclusive.
