I used: Heavy, then light hand-sanding of stairs. Seal wood with acrylic floor covering (stops stains - tar etc. - ingrained in wood coming through, which it did after 1st attempt). Two layers of undercoat in chosen colour. Two layers of acrylic floor covering to get gloss finish. All water-based, all quick-ish drying. Four flights of stairs and hallway took a couple of weeks, first few days of which were hand-sanding.

Double-counting, just like Covid testing last year which was also double-counted. Clearly a thing now ! -

Pedestrianization of Lordship Lane

There already is a LL bypass, it?s called Crystal Palace Rd. Just a matter of time until a serious injury / fatality on there. slarti b Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > An interesting idea and I can see real benefits, > but the council would need to work out where to > divert displaced traffic. Wow. Removing or changing part of a document after publication to give the impression it was initially published like that is fraudulent. legalalien Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Just browsing through this month's Council Forward > Plan. No, I meant ?edible? food. Because you were listing proposed improvements, of which my suggestion is certainly one IMO. I think as long as you?re outside the stipulated 0800-1000 and 1500-1800 timings, you?ll be OK. I do this myself during week. I?m assuming the stipulations are for weekdays only, it just occurred to me that I haven?t actually checked for certain. And logic is no friend of these LTNs and road restrictions. I Hammer - don't forget edible food, always a winner ! I can handle shite music, empty of clientele, even miserable or inept staff - but if I order food it'd better be what's described in the menu unless I'm told otherwise in front by the server. To balls-up a simple dish like sausage and mash (microwaved by sound of it... 'ting') is inexcusable !

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
KidKruger replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Having been shafted by Southwark I?d be amazed if Callows stays in the area, I mean what?s the point, after two moves ?! They deserved recognition and support, all the businesses on MG did, instead they got blindsided because they just don?t matter to the council - they?re an irrelevance. Being a business owner and realising this, you?d surely just depart (assuming you even had the massive funds needed to set-up business AGAIN). Punish residents with restrictions, closed roads, fines and no long term plan. That?s what. Goose Green councillors - how can we help?

What a terrible shame, decent local business assassinated by the very same body they pay their business rates to. No protection, in fact the opposite - make things difficult for them and don?t even inform them in advance of putting restrictions in place. Disgusting behaviour. smooch Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > James > It appears that Callow Locksmiths in the Melbourne > grove is the first long standing local business > that is having to move due the problems caused by > LTNs - personally I don't think they will be the > last. > > Have the council actually communicated with local > businesses? More care needs to be taken choosing, training, maintaining and monitoring front-line / customer-facing staff. It?s a skill, not a natural ability in some cases and impact on reputation can be massive. Sounds like people on here are calling a spade a spade.

Biggest laugh today was the ?1.85m being asked for a semi on Elsie Road. 🤣 Must be trying it on because of the new ?quiet street? status. Well my street is noisier as a result matey. Elsie Road, East Dulwich, London, SE22 https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-90057820.html

Southwark get you act together. And that?s just it, with the recent road closures the contingency for routes has been removed. So when an issue on a main artery arises (several times already in the last 12 months, no?) there is pure gridlock. Well that?s really fecking clever. Perhaps these stoopid decisions had to occur so that we?d (the council) get the chance to see how unrealistic they are in practice, at least for the moment. The principle is sound, but I think further actual practical forethought and gradual acceleration of supporting schemes is needed to have succeeded before attempting this next time. I was just waiting, just waiting, for the sound of an ambulance and the blue flashing lights, to see what happens in this gridlock. One thing that occurred to me was that if I have a heart attack and an ambulance is needed, I?m dead. Most people would be with such gridlock - the ambulance couldn?t even get TO you. Traffic congestion like that means you?re living as good as many miles away from the hospital. Anyway, I didn?t see an ambulance, how could I? If there had been one it couldn?t have got to LL where I was today in gridlock. That?s a pretty serious change to your options. Never needed it myself, but I?d much rather have the option of being saved by an ambulance, or having someone drive me to hospital in the case of an emergency. Today was another example of that being as likely to happen as getting an invite to the Dulwich Square tea dance.

This stuff just turns East Dulwich into a shitehole. Unless you live in one of the closed-off streets, I presume.

Yeah I was in part of this, took me 20 mins from WR butchers to Dulwich DIY !! I guess this was exacerbated by the street closures elsewhere ?
