  1. I thought immigration, ?sovereignty?, and ?financial benefits? were the reasons people voted Brexit. Never saw anything in Daily Mail or Facebook about European Union being dysfunctional ! 2. Not all stall holders live in SE22 to do deliveries, also they may not be set up at home to operate in an ad-hoc order/delivery mode. I have noticed previously that the pie van is consistent and adamant in distancing, serving and payment safely.
  3. A fair suggestion in principle, but I think it would come back to the problem shopkeepers face - enforcement. People get pretty aggressive when challenged. Last night I got called a tramp (fair enough), ?bladclaat?, c*nt, racist AND a got threat to ?give you Covid?, because I asked a guy sat in a takeaway if he could put a mask on - in a place that clearly had a big sign on the door (with diagram) to ?only enter if wearing a mask?. He was sitting down, so I didn?t touch him. Wouldn?t fancy doing that job myself in a shop or market ! 4. 🤣 So is this the new birdwatching, people leaving their homes and going to the market just to see how busy it is ?! What proportion of people in the market were doing that, in your estimation - in order to be a much bigger problem than the customers ? 5. Actually, it?s TWO other arguments. The first one though, I don?t think anybody dislikes the market enough to actually want it to disappear-that?s probably your imagination. There may be people who don?t like what is on offer at the market but that?s different. snathani Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wonder how many people here saying the market > should be closed are people who disliked having > the market there anyway. 6. J&B, I don?t know anyone who?s had it that is flippant about it ! 🤔
  7. That may well be true, I don?t know, perhaps you can elaborate or someone with more knowledge can contribute. Anything is better than another EU thread (on a Trump thread).
  8. Yep. Which is why ?We?ll be going round and round with this pandemic for years, precisely because of this kind of behaviour?.
  9. No worse than letting visitors into your house with shoes on. (Pre-Covid, obvs) Which in my experience covers most households here in UK!
  10. Chick just cutting and pasting text or links, then saying ?so there? doesn?t really seem to be cutting it ! Is your point that if you personally have read something it must therefore be true ?
  11. Hey, let?s do some ?A general thread to discuss Trump? on this thread !
  12. Agreed. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hey, let?s do some ?A general thread to discuss > Trump? on this thread !
  13. What was the timeline promoted for Brexit benefits to materialise ? Surely that should set the schedule for when we (one of us) hold our hand up. 14. TheCat - I desperately hope the future is brighter than it seems due to Brexit, I?m happy to hold my hand up now, in anticipation of that being the case. I so so hope I?m wrong. TheCat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If 'it turns to shit' I will indeed put my hand > up. > > If it doesn't. Will you?
  15. If/when this all turns to shit TheCat, are you gonna hold your hand up and concede that fact - or will it all be ?down to interpretation?. In short, and before we get to the moment, what will it actually take for you to agree Brexit has failed (if it ever does..) ? Or as far as you?re concerned, is the ?success? merely the act of leaving Europe and be damned the consequences ? I?m asking this because it?ll save a lot of interpretive BS in the coming months. Just answer the question, no distractions.
  16. Yep. 1000+ deaths a day (that?s over 1/3million per year, pro rata) and people insist on hanging out down the market, while being enabled to do so by the authorities. We?ll be going round and round with this pandemic for years, precisely because of this kind of behaviour.
  17. Hey, let?s do some ?A general thread to discuss Trump? on this thread !
  18. malumbu - Yeah I obviously have a point (though I?d prefer a pint), which is highlighting irony. This is a social media.
  19. We don?t order takeaways because we don?t know the kitchen staff wear masks and because it?s an unnecessary inbound item which, again, requires cleaning.
  20. I don?t even use Twitter, but wow what a relief !!
  21. I think Nicola Sturgeon said he?s not welcome there !
  22. Since March we wipe all our post, parcels, and wash our shopping and groceries inbound to the house. Perhaps do same for this kind of courier delivery ?
  23. Under a bus would be a good start !
  24. I read somewhere on the day that Trump had refused the request for the Nat Guard to be deployed, so other states had to provide same.
