CPZ...the results are in.....brace yourselves....
KidKruger replied to Rockets's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Basically it's painting-by-numbers, by stealth. The eventual outcome entirely predictable (in a year or two we can refer to this thread for evidence of that!). -

you're right ed_pete, it would be hard to enforce. But I guess my view is that's just the next part of the battle to ensure people can be free to enjoy the park without dealing with dog shit. Like speeding limits around here, hard to enforce. But with help of locals should be do-able.

depends on the problem. could be the connections loose in the bulb holder OR the ceiling rose, in which case dead easy to fix as long as you can unscrew (to separate) the bulb holder/ceiling rose. Both have two connections for the live and neutral wires, could be these just need re-attaching/tightening up. you'll need to be able to isolate the lights for that floor by removing / disconnecting appropriate fuse at fusebox (test this has worked by switching ON lights you know are on same circuit - they will go off when you dosconnect the fuse). if you're able to work up a ladder with arms reaching upwards for a few minutes, have a screwdriver/pliers, a bit of confidence, why not have a bash. probably instructions on youtube or internet, which may help confidence in understanding what to do before you start. if it's a loose connection in a cable dissapearing into the ceiling, you may have to access that issue from the floor above (floorboards up) or loft above, whichever appropriate in your case. This is the case for my lounge, but each house is different ! anyway this is layman's advice (I used to be a handyman and have renovated 4 houses) so finally don't do anything you're not pre-informed and confident about ! Good luck and do post an update..

Yes these are my thoughts Penguin (and I appreciated your earlier post BTW). Dog fines won't work, it's too costly to do full-time for GG and therefore won't be policed. Free poo bags won't work because that won't make people WATCH their dogs (or give a damn about fouling if it's someone who's fully aware but just doesn't care). Anyone who can afford a dog can afford doggy bags. As far as priority use of Goose Green goes, my view is: Family/Individual/Non-Shit-Fouling Users > Park Users Leaving Dog Shit It's a no-brainer. Putting GG back into use of the majority is simply aligning to the this prioritisation. Communities have always suffered / been penalised for the actions of a few thoughtless or selfish people, currently the majority of users are having to put up with dog-fouling from a small minority of users. If GG becomes a dog-free zone, the minority would suffer / be penalised for the benefit of the majority (HAVING HAD YEARS TO DEMONSTRATE THEIR COLLECTIVELY ABILITY TO MANAGE THEIR DOGS - AND FAILED). What amazes me is, even in the face of forum users confirming they avoid / have avoided the park for years, dog owners trying to either deflect blame on other kinds of park users such as paid dog walkers, complain how much they need the park, or deflect to issues such as broken glass and litter. This just demonstrates the sense of self-entitlement at play. QUESTION: How many dog owner park users have started picking-up rogue (or 'rouge', as I read on another thread - Thanks AD !!) poo since this thread started (when, presumably, for many dog owners, it was a complete revelation that fouling is happening) ? 1st: pick-up rogue dog poo on GG, 2nd: complain on this thread about how unfair a dog ban would be. ...I'm a dog owner disgusted at the frequency I see dog shit in a public space, where (for whatever reason, who cares) privilege is being taken for granted. GG is a small space which won't hurt to be made dog-free. Imagine a place you can go, roll around on the grass in the sun, knowing you won't be stinking of dog shit before you leave - wouldn't that be nice ?!

Might be worth knocking on doors Tom to ask neighbours directly and individually, they may not users of EDF. Also perhaps try houses/shops facing each exit to your road, where a view down your road could be captured. i.e. KwikFit and other shops.

rubbish - Lordship Lane and elsewhere
KidKruger replied to rachp's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It was bad at 9pm when LL was busy, like I say I saw people ripping open bags containing rubbish. Foxes may have had a go too but weren't the primary cause from what I saw. -

Leave an open jar / dollop of jam near door to entice bee out. -

I saw a couple/three crackheads tearing apart bags from the corner shop (charity?) next to Health Matters down to St. Christopher?s (big) shop on LL around 9pm last night. White man and woman, plus black guy. Making a right old mess . -
As of two or three weeks ago it was passable - and had been for some time.
-
Artful - ?rouge dog poo? ?! Now that?s a concept.....! (Apols if you?re dyslexic)
-
...picked up 2 about an hour ago. Is there a Specsavers on LL ?!
-
Perhaps see if someone is going to dump and can collect them for you in next couple of weeks ?
-
That doesn?t mean anything Angelina if I?ve picked-up 20+ per week recently ! And I wasn?t searching for them.

12pm start Sat 20th July - 'March For Change' in Central London
KidKruger replied to IlonaM's topic in The Lounge
?Exactly, people didn't know what they were voting for and or more importantly what the consequences would be.? I?m not convinced the consequences are still fully known, but given what we have learned since the referendum a follow-up would not vote Leave IMO. -

The MPs are voting to put Country before party (in most cases). You can call that ?personal? if you want. They can see what a disaster for the country Brexit is (already has been - currency exchange rate, companies moving operations abroad, reduced investment/investment on-hold) and they?re exercising basic common sense. Surely anyone sane can agree the ?referendum? was badly done and had no clarity about the shape of Brexit, plus some pretty major lies were told. About as bad an engagement of the population as it?s possible to get. It may not feel like it but MPs are trying to protect your ass. -
?so it's definitely owners and not dog walkers then? = seems to be. What?s your point ? ?are you a "dog walker"?? Owner, as per my posts above. What?s your point ?!
-
Seeing as the dogs shitting all over Goose Green are in their owners? care as far as I can see, dog walkers are getting a pretty hard time on this thread considering they haven?t done anything ! They?ve been accused of being the culprits, now their ability to be professional appears to be being questioned. Meanwhile I picked-up 3x rogue poos yesterday (one massive), and 2x today.

Not sure where Vishnu fits with Mr.Ali and his crew, them being Bangladeshis !! But good post nevertheless !

Next, we?d appreciate public toilets in sites around London (and U.K.) !
-
Any reco?s appreciated. Thanks.

Yes that was my original suggestion Upwind, and I still hold that view. Picked-up 3x rogue poos on Monday and 7x yesterday. Steaming dog toilet right through the summer.
