  1. Do other countries have contactless debit cards?
  2. Does anyone know what commission TfL pays shops to be Oyster top ups? My guess is, like they did with congestion charge, they next try to move away from people being able to top up in shops at all.
  3. It can be really hard to find somewhere to top up late at night in London - when the tube stations and shops are shut.
  4. Babmbuni does have a monthly bar night where they're open till 1130. Next one on Friday I think!
  5. I just wish the Telegraph had some couches and more comfortable chairs, but it is a great pub, and definitely over the border in Lewisham. The new Montague arms is fantastic, almost as good as the old. So very thankful it didn't get turned into flats! I actually quite like the Hollydale Tavern too, but I think that's just me.
  6. Whenever I'm working from home I pop into the Golden Anchor for lunch - Such good jerk chicken and rice. The only restaurant in Nunhead worth mentioning is the Thai attached to Skehans pub, and that's actually in Telegraph Hill.
  7. Now we just need another 2tph during peak.
  8. Love Sunday lunch at The Gantry.
  9. The kid and I walk past the sculpture every day and we both love it.
  10. Ouch. This all sounds awful.
  11. Agree! They're great! I also like Labro Tools and Gas on Nunhead Lane.
  12. *Sigh* I used to live at Goodge Street. Miss it a lot. I would get the train to LB, cross the walkway for the train to Charing Cross, and then get the Northern Line up to GS.
  13. I just heard a horror story at work that there were queues just to get in around lunch time over the weekend - only people with ice skating or ferris wheel tickets could go straight in... Can any one confirm? I'm going this Saturday with kiddo, but am now planning to go early. It opens at 10am.
  14. No trains from Victoria to Peckham Rye / Nunhead today. Also I see on Twitter the protected willow tree in Nunhead has come down. I hope they don't use it a justification to extend the proposed development opposite Nunhead green.
  15. I promise I'm not usually this nosey, but the Mrs did send me this on her walk past...

Just wondering where this is? I had a quick look on the weekend and must have gone the wrong way. In other news I note that WH Smith has become another pound shop.
  19. Any idea what the timeframe is for Queens Road Peckham to get its step free access?
  20. The set in Brimington Park is newer and nicer (and further away).
  21. There are a few airbnb's around though - my mum stayed at a lovely one on Telegraph Hill for ?30 a night. Haven't looked in ED though.
  22. Brockley is where to go for funeral parlours. Four in 100m.
