  1. Oh God, what have I started? Sadly, I'm not Rachel Khoo, but I'd be doing my best. And as I said, nobody died yet. Another possible menu might be: Starter: greek salad Main: venison steaks with a wine and cranberry sauce Dessert: home-made lemon sorbet (to cleanse the palate) coffee
  2. Hi. I've posted this in the business section, but I'm not really a business as such - and am just testing the water. I live near Goose Green and am thinking about starting a small supper club. Basic concept is this: I 'rent out' my rather pleasant tree-bordered and very private garden from 7.30 in the evening once weather gets nice, initially perhaps to one couple for a romantic evening, or party of four (or you sit round the kitchen table if weather not so good). Background music of your choice. I serve you with a three-course meal, but disappear while you're eating and enjoying yourselves. Now, it won't be Come Dine With Me! No fancy cuisine (I'm not in Suzanne James' league!). Just hearty, tasty, homely cooking, the kind of thing I'd make when having friends round (and none of them have died yet...). Donation upfront of ?25 a head and bring your own wine. First menu might include: Starter: pan-fried scallops with bacon served on a bed of rocket and watercress Main: rabbit in cider stew Dessert: plum crumble with cream Coffee Would anyone be interested?
  3. Thanks Wingless. I fell victim to one of these myself once. Once bitten, twice shy (ok, so I wanted the Ikea towels. Is that a crime?:-$)
  4. Looks like we've come to the attention of scammers (both rapidly removed by our lovely admin since I reported two to them). Be careful not to click on links everyone, and definitely don't give your password etc details away.
  5. Another scam, methinks. They're called joke viruses. Beware, just in case, not to click link. Good joke though...
  6. That is hilarious, while also tragic! Typical Santander. I'm not surprised - in my experience thickest call centre staff in the world. I left as soon as I could and they still managed to screw that up.
  7. Mind you, for muggings and nasty attacks, especially like these on women at the moment, I and possibly many others might not check The Blue Lamp every day, whereas if a post was put on main forum you can't fail to miss it. I, for one, being female, am very glad to have spotted these recent posts, whether related or not, especially as I too live on a road near the station, so am being on high alert at present. Maybe burglaries and other property crimes could go in the Lamp.
  8. Loving the name The Blue Lamp, but it does reveal something about your age, e-dealer!
  9. Hi. I posted today in the main section that I lost ?30 in cash near Goose Green, but bafflingly it was moved by you twice to the For Sale section. I have nothing for sale at present, I simply lost ?30 in nice, crisp notes just out of the cashpoint. I really can't understand why you moved it. Surely if I put it in the main section it gets seen by East Dulwich forumites at large and has more chance of success. I am not selling ?30. It could, I suppose, go in the Wanted section, but it seems a bit demanding, as in 'Wanted! My ?30 cash back!, or else!' Please, please let it sit out its time in the main section to give it a chance, otherwise I will have no option but to go round my neighbours' bins at night to feed myself. Many thanks, yours etc.
  10. Beautiful photos. I wonder if the solar flares hitting Earth this week anything to do with it?!
  11. And you have brought the issue to our attention, even if your sense of humour came over as rather off-kilter! We all make mistakes, lets face it.
  12. Great you apologised, LaineyB!
  13. And rbrtdngl, I think you're right.
  14. LaineyB, you obviously care about children. You're a nanny for God's sake! You can't be as cruel as you sound.
  15. My feeling is, is that LaineyB is who needs our compassion and support at the moment. So let's be kind to her. What do you think?
  16. Ondine and Andrew1011 - you're right. The OP's posts end with gibberish.
  17. Lighten up!? Rest of your post doesn't make the slightest bit of sense, LeineyB.
  18. Thankyou aquariousmoon. LaineyB, and EmllyB. And bigdavid. A good post. So, LaineyB, you were being 'humorous'. Very funny.
  19. So LaineyB, you've taught your child to see other people as squirrels. I see. God help her, and you.
  20. And by the way LaineyB, what you say makes an impact - and it offends me.
  21. Thankyou alice! And as to you LaineyB, do go away and take a course in compassion. One that you can pass on to your little one. 'Goings on' indeed. These are people down on their luck you're condemning and ridiculing.
  22. They are not a new nature attraction, they are human beings. Perhaps you could teach your little one not to shout and wake them up each time. It's not a game. And I wonder if you felt enormously superior and condemnatory with your 'hard stares' at the woman. I only ask. Sorry, but the tone of this post seriously pisses me off.
  23. Alright. So you don't take to his tongue-in-cheek rant about our beautiful home. But listen to his rant on the bankers. He's so on-message (or off-message if you're a banker or in government)!
  24. I suppose I found it particularly amusing because I myself have recently discovered the joys of Lidl (so cheap they couldn't afford a second vowel - my joke) and now shop there regularly for essentials because I refuse to be ripped off by Sainsbury's. In fact, Lidl's veg are very good indeed! I also love East Dulwich market. However, his rant about the bankers is especially apt. And do remember he is a performance artist. He is not as stupid as he might come over. By the way, admin, why has this been moved to the lounge when the first video mentions [East] Dulwich?
  25. WARNING: Strong language Don't know if this has already been posted. Very funny on Dulwich 'farmers' market'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZmAvoBfGOY&feature=related And this one on the bankers is fab (he does talk a lot of sense - bear in mind the ranting is his performance trademark, but certainly speaks for many people, myself included): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2KeBfy34mQ Enjoy.
