  1. I think a lot of the above are being a tad self righteous and kicking a man while s/he is down. The OP clearly didn't realise the drumming was for remembrance Sunday.....give them a break.
  2. So M&S nearly 25% cheaper
  3. Concerning the situation in the OP and the photos, should not the police have been called immediately. It is not legal to block the highway like that.
  4. I saw it. I think on the window sill of Barclays bank. Or very near there
  5. But when I rang, full until February!!!

  11. OMG Sue and Louisa....this is ridiculous and so boring
  12. The last few times I've been past I noticed there was no-one there. I am hoping it is just staff shortages?
  13. Useful suggestion
  14. Does anyone have any ideas how I can deal with having any nice summer day in the garden spoilt by the noise of my next door neighbours. I am not taking about the normal noise of children playing; my neighbour on the other side has brought up a family and fostered children and there have been no problems. What is a problem is the continuous ear shattering screeching of the children. It is no good appealing to the parents - they are noisy and the father is as bad as the children when he plays with them - encouraging them to get over excited. The only time I asked the parents to modify the behaviour of the children I was abused and do not relish that happening again. My only idea is noise cancelling headphones, but that does not seem very pleasant on a hot day. Any other strategies I could try?
  15. I was walking near ED station, where the pavement is pretty wide, and the way was completely blocked by a man and his 3 children cycling on the pavement. I have also often had to take evasive action when a child veers towards me, cycling way ahead of its parents. Cycling on pavements is often dangerous. Let the children use their bikes in parks until old enough to have taken a proficiency test to be safe on the roads. If the original poster wouldn't allow her children to cycle on London roads she needs to think again about her decision to have bought them bikes.
  16. Well done Louisa, for starting off an attack on Rose 79.
  17. I was interested that its section format was an exact copy of this one Is that imitation as the sincerest form of flattery, or is it a general format for forums (forae)?
  18. Fox shit on the lawn in the morning is not nice
  19. At 1.30 pm Louisa wrote "I won't say anything from now on". My heart leapt up.......until 3pm when she posted twice.
  20. Had a lovely lunch there on Friday. Very good choucroute, delicious tarte Tatin, nice wine and lovely service. Was pricey though
  21. Oh dear Louisa, I wasn't commenting on hot dogs. I was commenting about the posts
  22. I find threads get awfully boring when the usual suspects mount their hobby horses and start sounding off and doing it ad nauseam.
  23. Ah.....that's what it was. I spotted it in Grove Vale.
  24. Laminate will always make foot fall worse. Carpet and underlay is much better, sound proofing is best
