  1. Patel does believe in the Death Penalty (unless she's changed). So I'll be watching what happens there. https://www.indy100.com/article/priti-patel-death-penalty-ian-hislop-question-time-video-home-secretary-9020006
  2. Someone messed with the Presidential Seal when Trump spoke at the Turning Point group. The seal had a double headed eagle, golf clubs and a new motto. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/07/25/trump-appears-altered-presidential-seal-turning-point-usa-event/1824386001/

  8. You're right :) (from Wiki) "The eponymous oak trees in Knole Park have been replaced several times over the centuries. In 1902 seven oaks were planted on the north side of The Vine cricket ground to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII.[6] During the Great Storm of 1987, six of those trees were blown down. Their replacements, planted in a ceremony involving well-known people from television shows such as Blue Peter and locals such as Gloria Hunniford and Caron Keating, were vandalised, leaving the one mature tree standing. The trees have been replaced and eight Oak trees of varying ages line The Vine." Edit: and I bet there were loads of flants in the oaks

In our happy united country currently Arron is suing Carole Richard is suing Femi Pete North had an update on this on his blog http://peterjnorth.blogspot.com/2019/07/femi-gets-grayling-treatment.html but I still remember with affection when he got sued "I will not part with a single penny - not just because I don't have it and never will, but also because I do not yield to this kind of cynical performance and whatever they take from me they are going to have to take by force. Good luck with that! Presently this consists of a collection of Normandy era plastic model tanks and a collection of 90's death metal CDs. Hmmm "Labour appear to be leaning against such a move, because of a precedent involving Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in the parliamentary handbook Erskine May." (Sky News)

I'd like a single no confidence motion and the sane grouping of MP's in Parliament to come together and form a Government before the 14 days expire. Unlikely though.
  24. I don't see how continuing to campaign for the concept of a supra-national group is wrong and I can't see how any PM could unite a country that looks like splitting anyway. I will become, I think, a more selfish person if Brexit hits me personally.
  25. addendum :) of course the EU being pretty clever on these things will now try and re-define what "no deal" means - and make it a deal really.
