East Dulwich pubs ? intolerable music volume
JohnL replied to Fitzgeraldo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You notice this when rugby is on and they play music over the anthems - I ask why and am told its an obligation. i.e. to me they imply it's part of the licensing agreement. -
just wait until someone else opens the door :)

Star Trek Discovery is good though.

Whats Davis on about now. Has he decided he wants to be sacked too ? https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/theresa-does-not-know-how-brexit-will-hit-economy-david-davis-says-a3668491.html

I'm 51 and worry about ageism too as no job lasts until retirement now (I'm in IT and it used to be said you're over the hill at 50 - but there are shortages now and older people are valued). Mind you many companies just don't reply but it's strange they asked your age straight out - that would be a bit of a red flag to me (some bosses don't like people older than them to be working for them).

The country just seems angrier IMHO Express newspapers is about to get taken out by Trinity Mirror (if they can sort out the pension issue) that'll be one down (I'd put in Campbell as Editor :) ). The Sun has U turned before. The Telegraph and Mail will never shut up though.

Ed Milliband and Ed Balls at the dispatch box during PMQs I was one of the few that liked that combination But then Ed ate a bacon sandwich :(

Yet when I work from home I get 2 or 3 ringing to leave my neighbours parcels - how do they know I'm in (I'm not that noisy). I then end up being delivery boy if they don't pop over before I go out :)

I thought I never got called because of my minor conviction 30 years ago (and ?9 fine). But I checked and apparently not so it must be some other reason. http://jury-service.co.uk/jury-service-eligibility/

"Ex-attorney general Dominic Grieve, leading attempts to reshape the PM?s Brexit plans, later said Britain may have to extend its EU membership beyond March 2019 to allow time for a final deal to be properly ratified by Parliament." "The Independent understands that Ms May had been angry at having to fire-fight problems created by Mr Davis as she prepared for her weekly PMQs session." Ms May :) Thats the way I see of Brexit not happening. Temporary extensions (to A50 I assume is meant) - differing from a transition period then an election.

LOL When David Davis sobered up he remembered that it was October 2018 http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/david-davis-brexit-deal-mp-vote-uk-leave-eu-theresa-may-tory-government-labour-commons-a8019531.html

EU has always said that all the deal(s) need to be concluded about 6 months BEFORE Brexit so that the EU-27 parliaments can individually approve the deals. Whilst 27 EU parliaments are approving the deal then logically UK Parliament (and the Scottish Parliament and NI/Welsh Assemblies) should also approve you'd think. But no, Davis now says negotiations will go on until March 2019 and will be no time for parliamentary approval before we leave. It's going to be exciting he says. I don't want exciting.

Davis is such an idiot - France don't really care that much - they're happy to give us the cold shoulder or a gallic shrug. We have to be pro-active not just blame France. I also suspect still does not understand IT systems and the process of implementing them - how far are we down the road of this new customs system so far ? "Mr Davis also hinted that France ? not Britain ? would be to blame if there was no agreement and new customs arrangements were not in place. Insisting the UK?s new customs systems would be ready for March 2019 regardless, he suggested the French were ?not investing enough ? which could cause ?backlogs in the UK?." http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-mp-vote-uk-leave-eu-david-davis-deal-talks-european-union-trade-1050-a8018761.html

Ireland have previously said they might veto the start of trade talks unless the border is sorted first http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4760462/Irish-PM-warns-challenges-Brexit.html

He knew nobody would reply. This was just done to intimidate - which with all the "treason" talk on twitter could make some uncomfortable (I now block anybody of either side talking of treason and trials (example below) - so stupid). http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/866422/Brexit-news-Julia-Hartley-Brewer-Philip-Hammond-UK-EU-deal

"Lord Varys: But what do we have left, once we abandon the lie? Chaos? A gaping pit waiting to swallow us all. Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish: Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is."
