Police will not investigate Shop lifting and Burglaries
JohnL replied to DulwichFox's topic in The Lounge
To be honest the below sounds a little sensible as budgets have been cut so badly http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/met-police-spending-cuts-400-million-funding-london-crimes-not-investigated-burglary-assault-a8002746.html Under 50 pounds or victim won't support prosecution. Must be an opportunity for G4S or someone to privately investigate though. -

Private police forces ? - if entrapment can be used to trap paedophiles - can shopkeepers combine to set up honey traps for instance ?. Must leave the place open to protection rackets. -

It's not unique to London - and it's the children themselves usually most at danger. -

Saw something similar near Brixton - same age. Haven't seen any firework danger warnings this year. -
And the Tories now once again taking an almighty hammering in the Daily Mail comments section (couldn't resist looking) as they've suggested they might tax older people to help younger people. Deja Vue

The Great Western lines is supposed to be electrified to Cardiff and new hybrid trains purchased - they use diesel after Cardiff. Anyway the bigwigs got a taste of their own medicine on the very first hybrid train run. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/new-train-set-run-between-13767501 Actually the Guardian describes it better (leaks too) .. nice coloured train though (it's the original livery) https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/oct/16/delays-and-drips-mark-great-western-railways-new-train-launch

490 Billion pounds has just disappeared from the UK GDP (overseas holdings or such) 25% of GDP. just an accounting error. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/866946/brexit-latest-updates-ons-data-wipes-490-billion-uk-wealth

If this was committed under the "soft" Labour government (David Blunkett Home Secretary) they'd probably get an IPP for this. http://metro.co.uk/2017/08/15/imprisonment-for-public-protection-what-is-an-ipp-prisoner-6851756/

I hoped it meant they were very immature - maybe wrong (: I'd separate them by 100s of miles and work on them (even brainwash them) individually - although whether the system can do that is unknown to me.

LOL Brexit is why my bathroom floor rotted too. "The uncertainty surrounding Brexit is thought to be one of the reasons why the Six Nations were unable to seal their ?100m deal, with seeing a downturn in the sponsorship market." http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/six-nations-embarrassment-bid-bumper-13750071

Apparently the Great Repeal Bill has been postponed after it got 300 amendments put down on it.

to be fair if he lied it's a good one (comments underneath: I bet you secretly voted leave)

Checked Beerintheevening - The foresters obviously didn't have any internet presence but some great early Bishop posts by Scott including in 2005 "the third rate magician is honing his act for his upcoming TV show, he charges nothing and is generally very well received. I guess had he been really good he would have made the scary youths disappear"

If a dropped kerb is allowed by the council then it's a bit unfair to stop someone getting one (petition the council not to allow more would be the democratic way). by the way my mother warned me to keep away from Laburnam trees and I'd forgotten until now.

Interesting comment by the Speaker "Commons Speaker John Bercow has said that MPs are not obliged to vote in line with the EU referendum vote. Speaking to the Hansard Society, Bercow said it was an ?opinion, rather than a constitutional fact? that MPs were obliged to vote through Brexit because of the referendum result." I thought there was no remain option in any vote, just deal or no deal. Does he know something then ?

The Irish love Cardiff and usually are welcomed (after the match anyway if not during) Neath :) My father was from there - it can be 'peculiar'. The Neath rugby team of the 1980/1990s was the then bad boy team of Welsh rugby.

They sound very immature - not sure how you deal with that, at least separate them. "Evening Standard editor George Osborne was among those who fell victim to Parkinson's crew" I feel so sorry for him.

and also when will David Davis publish these impact assessments - surely if they were positive he'd be crowing about them https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/oct/10/mps-urge-david-davis-to-publish-brexit-impact-assessments

Why has Liz Truss switched to leave citing "no economic damage" just when economic damage looks on the near horizon Internal Tory politics I guess. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/uk-news/liz-truss-would-vote-leave-13747046

PMQs was back to it's normal standard today. Corbyn to May: You're on another planet, May to Corbyn: You're on Planet Venezuela. May even threw her notes over the table in annoyance when someone mentioned she was hurtling towards a no deal (answered "You couldn't be more wrong" (instead of you, it was the right honourable member but that's a laugh)

When we started the Celtic league in Rugby a bit of rivalry started (I remember Gatland stirring it too at one point before a Wales-Ireland international) and that jumped over into football. The England rivalry is still there - remember the players laughing and cheering when Iceland beat England. An ex England cricket captain did :)

rant about children crossing the road irresponsibly

Btw, note that the > Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is > against introducing 20mph limits in an entire > borough, and especially on major A roads. No proof - this is just what I always have assumed. If drunk driving I'd be certain all blame would be on the driver - even if a pedestrian threw themselves at the car - in court it would just be "you were drunk, you hit a pedestrian". Maybe it's less unforgiving for speeding. I hope not to ever find out in a bad way.
